And he cried in(=with) a mighty voice, saying, “Fell(=Fallen), fell(=fallen is) Babylon the Great! And it has become a dwelling place of demons, [and] a prison of every foul spirit, and a prison of every foul and having been hated(=hateful) bird, and a prison of every foul beast1.”
“For all the nations have drunk from(=of) the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich from the power of her luxury.”
And I heard another voice from [the] heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, so that you might(=will) not share in her sins, and so that you might(=will) not receive from(=of) her plagues.”
“For her sins are piled up to [the] heaven, and [the] God has remembered her iniquities(=crimes).”
“Give back to her just as she gave back, and repay (her) double according the her works. Mix double (for) her in the cup which she has mixed.”
“As she glorified herself and luxuriated, so give her torment and grief; for in her heart she says, “[that] I sit (as) queen, and I am not widow, and I (will) never see grief.”
“Therefore in one day her plagues will come: death and grief and famine. And in(=with) fire she will be burned, for strong is (the) Lord [the] God having judged her.”
“And the kings of the earth having committed fornication with her and having luxuriated will weep and [will] wail over her, when they see the smoke of her burning,”
“standing(# perfect as present) from far off because of the fear of her torment, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city Babylon, the mighty city, for (in) one hour your judgment has come.’”
“And the merchants of the earth (will) weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their cargo anymore,”
“cargo of gold and silver and precious stone and pearls; and fine linen and purple and silk and scarlet; and every citron(=scented) wood and every vessel of ivory and every vessel of the most valuable wood and of bronze and of iron and of marble.”
“and cinnamon and spice and incense and myrrh and frankincense and wine and oil and fine flour and wheat and cattle and sheep, and [of] horses and [of] chariots and [of] bodies(=slaves), and souls of men.”
“And the fruit of the lust of your soul has gone from you, and all the sumptuous things and the splendid things have been lost from(=to) you, and they will never find them any more.”
“The merchants of these things, the ones having been rich from her, will stand from far off because of the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning,”
“saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city having been clothed (with) fine linen and purple and scarlet, and having been adorned in(=with) gold and precious stone and pearl!’”
“for (in) one hour such (great) wealth has been desolated.” And every shipmaster, and every one sailing(=traveling) on(=to) a place, and sailors and as many as work(=trade) (on) the sea, stood from far(=at a distance),
and were crying out, seeing the smoke of her burning, saying, “What (is) like the great city?”
And they threw dust on their heads, and were crying out, weeping and mourning, saying, “Woe, woe, the great city, in which all the ones having the ships in(=on) the sea were(=became) rich from(=by) her preciousness(=wealth), for (in) one hour she has been desolated.”
“Rejoice over her, O heaven, and the(=you) saints and [the] apostles and [the] prophets, for [the] God has judged your judgment from(=on) her.”
And one mighty angel took up a stone as(=like) a great millstone and threw (it) into the sea, saying, “Thus (with) violence the great city Babylon will be thrown down, and might(=will) not be found anymore.”
“And (the) sound of harpists and musicians and flutists and trumpeters might(=will) not be heard in you anymore. And every craftsman of any craft might(=will) not be found in you anymore. And (the) sound of a millstone might(=will) not be heard in you anymore.”
“And (the) light of a lamp might(=will) not shine in you anymore. And (the) voice of bridegroom and bride might(=will) not be heard in you anymore, for your merchants were the great men of the earth, for in(=by) your sorcery all the nations were deceived.”
