1 And a great sign was seen in [the] heaven: a woman having been clothed (with) the sun, and the moon (was) under her feet, and a crown of twelve stars (was) on her head.
2 And having in womb(=being pregnant), [and] she cries(=cried) (in) suffering the birth-pangs and being tormented to give birth.
3 And another sign was seen in [the] heaven. And behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns and seven diadems on his heads.
4 And his tail drags(=swept) the third of the stars of [the] heaven and he threw them to the earth. And the dragon has stood(=stood) before the woman being about to give birth, so that he might devour her child when she might give birth(=gave birth).
5 And she gave birth to a son, a male (child), who is about to shepherd(=rule) all the nations in(=with) an iron rod(# 2:27). And her child was seized(=was caught up) to [the] God and His throne.
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has [there] a place having been prepared from(=by) [the] God, that there they(# impersonal) may nourish her (for) one thousand two hundred (and) sixty days.
7 And there was war in [the] heaven, (for) [the] Michael and his angels to fight with the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back.
8 And he was not strong, nor was their place found in heaven still(=any longer).
9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the ancient serpent being called (the) Devil and [the] Satan deceiving the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
10 And I heard a great voice in [the] heaven, saying, “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, (who) accusing them before our God day and night.”
11 “And they overcame him because of(=by) the blood of the Lamb and because of(=by) the word of their testimony, and they did not love their soul(=lives) until death.”
12 “Therefore rejoice, heavens and the ones tabernacling(=dwelling)1 in them! Woe (to) the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, (who) having a great wrath, knowing that he has a few(=short) time.”
13 And when the dragon saw that he was thrown down(=had been thrown down) to the earth, he pursued the woman who gave birth to the male (child).
14 And (to) the woman were given the two wings of the great eagle, so that she may fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished [there] (for) a time, and times, and half a time, from (the) face of the serpent.
15 And the serpent threw(=poured) from his mouth water as(=like) a river after the woman, that he might cause her to be swept away by the flood.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river which the dragon threw(=had poured) from his mouth.
17 And the dragon was angry at the woman, and he went off to make war with the rest of her seed(=offspring), (who) keeping the commandments of God and having the testimony of Jesus Christ2.
18 And he stood on the sand of the sea.
