1 “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, ‘These things says the one having the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, and(=but) you are dead.’”

2 “Be watching(=watchful), and strengthen the remaining things which were(=are) about to die, for I have not found your works having been fulfilled(=perfected) before my God.”

3 “Remember therefore how you have received and heard; and keep (it) and repent. Therefore if you might(=do) not watch(=wake up), I will come like a thief, and you might(=will) not know at what hour I will come upon you.”

4 “But you have a few names in Sardis which(=who) have not defiled their garments, and they will walk with me in white, because they are worthy.”

5 “Thus the one overcoming will be clothed in white garments. And I will never blot out his name from the book of [the] life, and I will confess his name before my Father and before His angels.”

6 “Let the one having an ear hear what the Spirit says (to) the churches.”

7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says the holy one, the true one, the one having the key of David, the one opening(=who opens) and no one will shut, and the one shutting(=who shuts) and no one opens.’”

8 “I know your works. Behold, I have given(=set) before you a door having been opened, which no one is able to shut [it]. (I know) that you have a little strength, and you have kept my word and have not denied my name.”

9 “Behold, I may(=will) give (you some) from the synagogue of Satan, the ones calling themselves to be Jews and they are not, but are lying. Behold, I will make them that they will come and [will] worship(=come and fall down) before your feet, and they [might] know that I have loved you.”

10 “Because you have kept my word of endurance, I also will keep you from the hour of trial being about to come on the whole inhabited (world) to test the ones dwelling on the earth.”

11 “I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one might take your crown.”

12 “The one overcoming, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he might(=will) go out no more. And I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem coming down out of the heaven from my God; and (I will write on him) my new name.”

13 “Let the one having an ear hear what the Spirit says (to) the churches.”

14 “And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write, ‘These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning(=ruler) of God’s creation.’”

15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. Would(=I wish) that you were either cold or hot.”

16 “So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”

17 “Because you say, ‘[that] I am rich, [and] I have become wealthy, and I have need of nothing,’ and you do not know that you are [the] wretched, [and] pitiable, [and] poor, [and] blind, and naked.”

18 “I counsel you to buy from me gold having been refined from(=by) fire, so that you might become wealthy; and white garments, so that you might be clothed and the shame of the your nakedness might not be seen; and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see.”

19 “As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline. Therefore be earnest and repent.”

20 “Behold, I stand(# perfect as present) at the door and knock. If anyone [might] hears my voice and [might] opens the door, I will come in to him and [will] dine with him, and he with me.”

21 “The one overcoming, I will give to him (the right) to sit with me in(=on) my throne, just as I also overcame and sat down with my Father in(=on) His throne.”

22 “Let the one having an ear hear what the Spirit says (to) the churches.”
