(=alt.word)  ·  (added word)  ·  [omit]

And (this is the) main point about the things being said. We have such a high priest, who sat at (the) right hand of the throne of the Majesty in [the] heavens,

a minister of holy things(=the sanctuary) and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord erected, not man.

For every high priest is appointed [for the] to offer both gifts and sacrifices; hence (it is) necessary (for) this One to have something that he might offer.

Therefore if he were on earth, he would not be a priest, being(=since there are)1 the ones’ offering(=the priests who offer)2 the gifts according to (the) law,

who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses has been(=was) warned, being(=when he was) about to erect the tabernacle, for He says, “See that you shall make all things according to the pattern having been shown you in(=on) the mountain.”

And now he has obtained a more excellent ministry, and to that degree(=by how much also) he is mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises.

For if that first (covenant) was(=had been) faultless, no place would have been sought (for a) second.

For finding fault (with) them, he says, “Behold, (the) days are coming, says (the) Lord, and(=when) I will establish a new covenant on(=with) the house of Israel and on(=with) the house of Judah.”

“not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers in (the) day my having taken(=when I took)3 their hand(=them by the hand) to lead them out of (the) land of Egypt, because they did not continue in my covenant, and I disregarded them, says (the) Lord.”

“For this (is) the covenant which I will make (with) the house of Israel after [the] those days, says (the) Lord; giving my laws into their mind, and on their hearts I will write them; and I will be to them for God(=their God), and they will be to me for a people(=my people).”

“And they might(=shall) not teach every one his fellow and every one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all will know me from (the) least of them to the greatest.”

“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and I might(=will) remember their sins no more.”

In the to say “new”(=When he says “a new covenant”), he has made the first obsolete. And the thing being made obsolete and growing old (is) near disappearing(=ready to vanish away).
