(=alt.word)  ·  (added word)  ·  [omit]

Therefore, promise’s being left(=since the promise remains)1 to enter(=of entering) into His rest, let us fear lest any of you [may] seem to come short (of it).

For we also are having been evangelized(=have had the good news proclaimed to us), just as they (did), but the word of (their) hearing did not profit them, not having been mixed(=because they were not united) (with) faith (in) the ones having heard.

For we having believed enter into the rest, as He has said, “As I swore in my wrath, ‘If They shall enter(=They shall not enter) into my rest,’” and yet(=although) the works’ having been become(=the works were finished)2 from (the) foundation of (the) world.

For He said somewhere about the seventh day in this way: “And [the] God rested on the seventh day from all his works.”

And in this (place) again (it says), “If They shall enter(=They shall not enter) into my rest.”

Since therefore it remains for some to enter [into] it, and the ones formerly having been evangelized did not enter because of disobedience.

Again He sets a certain day, “Today,” saying in David, after so long time, as it has been said, “Today, if you [might] hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”

For if Jesus(=Joshua) had given them rest, He would not have spoken about another day after these things(=afterwards).

So then, there remains a Sabbath-rest (for) the people of God.

For the one having entered into His rest also rested from his (own) works, as [the] God (did) from the own(=His).

Let us therefore be eager to enter into that rest, so that no one might(=will) fall in(=by) the same example of disobedience.

For the word of God (is) living and active, and sharper than any double-edged sword, [and] penetrating as far as to the separation of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrows, discerning of thoughts and intentions of (the) heart.

And there is no creature unseen(=hidden) before Him, but all things (are) naked and [having been laid] open to eyes of Him to whom the word(=reckoning) (is) to us(=we must give an account).

Having therefore a great high priest having passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast the(=our) confession.

For we do not have a high priest not being able(=unable) to sympathize with our weaknesses, but (the one) having been tempted in every way according to likeness(=just as we are), without sin.

Let us therefore approach with confidence the throne of grace, so that we might(=may) receive mercy and [might] find grace for timely help(=in time of need).
