(=alt.word)  ·  (added word)  ·  [omit]

Do not rebuke an older (man), but exhort (him) as a father, young men as brothers,

old women as mothers, younger women as sisters in(=with) all purity.

Honor widows (who are) really widows.

And if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them firstly learn to be dutiful to the(=their) own house(=family) and to repay recompense to the(=their) parents, for this is acceptable before God.

And she (who is) really widow, having been left alone, have hoped(=have her hope set) on (the) God and continues (in) the supplications and the prayers night and day,

but the (widow) living in pleasure has died, living(=while she lives).

And command these things, so that they may be irreproachable.

And if anyone does not provide (for) his own, and especially for his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Do not let a widow less than(=under) sixty years old be enrolled, having been a wife of one man,

being testified in(=by) good works, if she has brought up children, if she has received strangers, if she washed (the) feet of (the) saints, if she has helped the ones being oppressed, if she has followed every good work.

But refuse younger widows; for when they grow wanton against Christ, they want to marry,

having condemnation because they have cast off the(=their) first faith.

And at the same time they learn (to be) idle, going around the houses(=from house to house), not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying the things not being proper(=which they ought not to).

Therefore I desire (that) younger widows [to] marry, [to] bear children, [to] manage their homes and [to] give the opposing one no opportunity because of(=for) reproach.

For some have already turned aside after Satan.

If any believing woman has widows, let her relieve them, and do not let the church be burdened, so that it(=the church) might(=can) relieve really(=real) widows.

Let the elders ruling(=who rule)1 well be considered worthy of double honor, especially the ones laboring in word(=preaching) and teaching.

For the Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox treading out the grain,” and “The worker (is) worthy of his wage.”

Do not receive accusation against an elder unless (it is brought) by two or three witnesses.

The(=Those) (who are) sinning rebuke before all, so that the rest also may have fear.

I charge (you) before [the] God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels, that you might observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality.

Do lay hands on none hastily, neither participate (in) the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.

No longer drink (only) water, but use a little wine because of the(=your) stomach and your frequent weaknesses(=sicknesses).

The sins of some men are obvious, preceding (them) to judgment, but they(=the sins of others) follow some (men).

Likewise, the good works also (are) obvious, and the things having(=being) otherwise(=even those that are not obvious) are not able to be hidden.
