Let as many slaves as are under (the) yoke(=all who are under the yoke of slavery) consider the(=their) own masters worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and (our) teaching may not be blasphemed.
And the ones having believing masters, let them not despise (them) because they are brothers; but let them serve them the rather(=even better) because the ones benefiting (from) their service are believers and beloved. Teach and exhort these things.
If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to being healthy(=sound) words of our Lord Jesus Christ and to the teaching according to godliness,
he has been conceited, understanding nothing, but being obsessed with controversies and disputes, from which come envy, strife, blasphemies, evil suspicions,
mutual frictions of men having been corrupted (in) [the] mind and having been deprived of the truth, supposing the godliness to be the way to make money(=that godliness is a means of gain).
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
For we have brought nothing into the world, and we are not able to take anything out (of the world).
And having food and coverings(=clothing), (with) these we will be satisfied.
But the ones desiring to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and (into) many senseless and harmful lusts that plunge men into ruin and destruction.
For the love of money is (the) root of all evils, (for) which some, reaching out(=being eager, wandered from the faith and pierced themselves (with) many pains.
But you, O man of God, flee these things, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, gentleness.
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
I charge (you) in the presence of [the] God giving life (to) all things, and (in the presence of) Christ Jesus having witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate,
(for) you to keep the(=this) commandment without spot (or) blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
which (God) will show (in) his own times, (who is) the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of the reigning ones(=kings) and Lord of the lording ones(=lords),
the only (One) having immortality (and) dwelling (in) unapproachable light, whom none of men has seen or is able to see, to whom (be) honor and eternal power. Amen.
Command the rich(=those who are rich) in the present age not to be arrogant nor to put their hope on (the) uncertainty of riches but on God richly providing us (with) all things for (our) enjoyment,
to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and willing to share,
laying up (for) themselves a good foundation for the future, that they might take hold of the really(=real) life.
O Timothy, guard the trust(=what has been entrusted to you), avoiding the profane chatter and contradictions of the falsely called knowledge(=what is falsely called knowledge),
which some professing have missed the mark concerning the faith. [The] Grace (be) with you.
