You, therefore, my child, be strong in the grace (that is) in Christ Jesus,
and the things that you have heard from me through many witnesses, commit these to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
No man serving as a soldier gets entangled (with) the affairs of (his daily) life, that he may please the one having enlisted (him to be a soldier).
And also if anyone [might] competes (in athletics), he is not crowned unless he [might] competes lawfully.
It is right for the hardworking farmer to have a first (share) of the crops.
Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in all things.
Remember Jesus Christ having been raised from (the) dead, from (the) seed of David, according to my gospel,
in which I suffer trouble unto chains as an evildoer; but the word of God has not been chained.
Through this(=Therefore) I endure all things for the sake of the chosen ones, that they also might obtain the salvation (which is) in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
Faithful (is) the(=this) word, “If we have died with (him), we shall also live with (him).”
“If we endure, we shall also reign with (him). If we [will] deny (him), that One also will deny us.”
“If we are faithless, that One remains faithful, for he is not able to deny himself.”
Remind (them of) these things, charging (them) before [the] God not to fight with words to no profit, to ruin of the hearing ones.
Be eager to present yourself to God (as one) approved, a worker having nothing to be ashamed, cutting straightly(=explaining rightly) the word of truth.
And avoid the profane (and) empty chatter, for they(=chatter) will advance to more ungodliness,
and their word will have pasture(=will spread) like gangrene(=cancer), of whom is(=are) Hymenaeus and Philetus,
who concerning the truth have strayed, saying resurrection to have already become(=that the resurrection has already taken place), and overthrow the faith of some.
Nevertheless the firm foundation of God stands(# perfect as present), having this seal: “(The) Lord has known the ones being his,” and, “Let everyone naming the name of (the) Lord stand away from unrighteousness.”
And in a great house (there) is(=are) not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; and some for honor, and some for dishonor.
Therefore if anyone [might] cleanses himself from these(=latter), he will be a vessel for honor, having been sanctified, useful to the master, having been prepared for every good work.
And flee [the] youthful lusts, but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with the ones calling on the Lord from a pure heart.
And refuse the foolish and unlearned disputes, knowing that they breed quarrels,
And it is necessary (for) a slave of (the) Lord not to fight but to be kind to all, able to teach, patient,
in meekness instructing the opposing ones, if [the] God might(=may) give them repentance, to knowledge of truth(=so that they may know the truth),
and they might(=may) come to (their) senses from the snare of the devil, having been caught by him unto the will of that one.
