(=alt.word)  ·  (added word)  ·  [omit]

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by (the) will of God, according to (the) promise of life (which is) in Christ Jesus

(To) Timothy, (my) beloved child: Grace, mercy, peace from God (the) Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

I have thanks(=thank) God, whom I serve, from ancestors(=as my ancestors did), in(=with) pure conscience, when I unceasingly have the remembrance about(=constantly remember) you in my supplications night and day,

longing to see you, having remembered your tears, so that I might be filled (with) joy.

Having taken recollection of the sincere faith in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice, and I have been persuaded(=convinced) that (it dwells) also in you.

For which reason(=For this reason) I remind you to rekindle the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

For [the] God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but (a spirit) of power and love and self-discipline.

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but join with (me) in suffering (for) the gospel according to (the) power of God,

of the One(=who) having saved us and having called (with) a holy calling, not according to our works but according to (his) own purpose and grace (which was) given us in Christ Jesus before eternal times(=the beginning of time),

and having now been revealed through the appearance of the our Savor Christ Jesus, having(=who has) destroyed [the] death and having brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

for which I was appointed a herald(=preacher) and an apostle and a teacher.

Through which cause(=For this reason) I also suffer these things. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I have been persuaded that he is able to guard my deposit(=what I have entrusted to him) to(=until) that day.

Have(=Hold) (the) pattern of the being healthy(=sound) words which you heard from me, in faith and love (which are) in Christ Jesus.

Guard the good deposit(=thing which was entrusted to you) through (the) Holy Spirit dwelling in us.

You know this, that all the ones in [the] Asia turned away from me, among whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes.

The Lord might(=may) give mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me (and) was not ashamed of my chain,

but having come in Rome, he eagerly searched for me and found (me).

May the Lord grant him to find mercy from (the) Lord in(=on) that day. You know well how much he served (me) in Ephesus.
