(=alt.word)  ·  (added word)  ·  [omit]

Therefore if (there is) any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of (the) Spirit, if any mercy and compassions,

complete my joy that you may think the same thing(=by being like-minded), having the same love, in harmony of mind, thinking the one thing,

(doing) nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but (in) [the] humility considering others better than yourselves,

each of you not watching(=let each of you look not only to) the things(=interests) of themselves(=your own), but also each of you (to) the things(=interests) of others.

Think(=Have) this (mind) in you which (was) also in Christ Jesus,

who, being in (the) form of God, did not consider (it) robbery(=prize) to be equal (with) God,

but emptied himself, having taken (the) form of a slave, having become in likeness of men.

And having been found (in) appearance as a man, he humbled himself, having become obedient unto death – even death of a cross.

Therefore, [the] God also has highly exalted him and granted him the name above every name,

that in(=at) the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,

and every tongue should acknowledge that Jesus Christ (is) Lord, to (the) glory of God (the) Father.

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out the salvation of yourselves(=your own salvation) with fear and trembling;

for (it) is God, the One working in you both to will and to work for the(=His) good pleasure.

Do all things without grumblings and arguments,

that you may be blameless and unmixed(=pure), children of God unblemished in the midst of a crooked and [having been] perverted generation, among whom you shine like luminaries(=stars) in (the) world,

holding fast (the) word of life, for a boast to me(=so that there may be a boast to me) in (the) day of Christ, that I did not run in vain or labored in vain.

But even if I am being poured out on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and rejoice with you all.

And (in) the same (way) you also rejoice and rejoice with me.

But I hope in (the) Lord Jesus to send Timothy (to) you soon, that I also may be cheered, having known the things about you.

For I have no one like-minded, who will genuinely care for the things about you.

For all seek the things of themselves(=their own interests), not the things of Christ Jesus.

But you know his trial(=proven character), that as a child (with his) father, he served (as a slave) with me in the gospel.

Therefore I hope to send this one, as soon as I [might] see the things about me(=how things go with me).

And I am confident(# perfect as present) in (the) Lord that I myself will also come soon.

But I considered (it) necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and fellow worker and fellow soldier, but your apostle(=messenger) and minister (to) my need,

since he was longing for you all and being in distress because you heard that he was ill.

For he was ill near to death. But [the] God had mercy (on) him, and not only (on) him but also (on) me, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

Therefore I sent him the more eagerly, that you, having seen him again, might(=may) rejoice and I may be less sorrowful.

Therefore, welcome him in (the) Lord with all joy, and hold honored(=honor) such men,

because for the work of Christ he came close to death, having risked the(=his) life, that he might fill up your lack of service to me.
