(=alt.word) · (added word) · [omit]
Therefore I, the prisoner in (the) Lord, beg you to walk worthy of the calling (with) which you were called,
with all humility and gentleness, with long-endurance, bearing (with) one another in love,
being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of [the] peace.
(There is) one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling,
one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
one God and Father of all, the One (who is) above all and through all and in all.
But to each one of us [the] grace was given according to the measure of the gift of [the] Christ.
Therefore he says, “Having ascended to(=on) high, he led captivity captive, (and) gave gifts to men.”
And the (word) “He ascended” - what is it(=does it mean) except that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth?
The One himself having descended is also the One having ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.
And he himself gave some (to be) apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,
for the equipping of the saints to(=for) (the) work of ministry, to(=for) building up the body of Christ,
until we all might attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect(=mature) man, to (the) measure of (the) stature of fullness of Christ,
so that we may(=should) no longer be infants, being tossed back and forth and being carried about (with) every wind of teaching(=doctrine), in(=by) the trickery of men, in (the) cunning with (the) method of error(=deception),
but, speaking the truth in love, we should grow up (in) all things into him who is the head, Christ,
from whom the whole body, being joined together and being knitted together by every ligament of support(=supporting ligament), according to (the) working in measure of each [one] part, makes the growth of the body for building of itself(=building itself up) in love.
Therefore I say this and testify in (the) Lord, you to walk no longer(=that you must walk no longer) as the Gentiles walk in (the) futility of their mind,
being (the ones) having been darkened (in) the understanding, (and the ones) having been alienated (from) the life of God because of the ignorance being in them, because of hardness of their heart,
who, having lost sensitivity, gave themselves over to lewdness for practice of all uncleanness in greediness.
But you did not so learned [the] Christ,
if indeed you heard of him and were taught in(=by) him as (the) truth is in [the] Jesus,
you to put off(=that you put off), with regard to the former way of life, the old man being corrupted according to the lusts of deceit(=deceitful lusts)1,
and to be renewed(=so that you may be renewed) (in) the spirit of your mind,
and to put on(=that you put on) the new man having been created according to God in righteousness and holiness of truth(=true righteousness and holiness)2.
Therefore you each one, having put away the lie(=falsehood), speak(# imperative) truth with his neighbor, because we are members of one another.
Be angry but do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,
and give no place to the devil.
Let the stealing one steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working (with) the(=his) own hands the good thing, so that he may have (something) to share (with) the one having need(=the one in need).
Do not let any corrupt word come out of your mouth, but if any (word is) good for building of need(=necessary edification)3, that it might give grace to the ones hearing(=who listen).
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in(=by) whom you were sealed for (the) day of redemption.
Let all bitterness and rage and anger and clamor and blasphemy be taken away from you, with all malice,
And be kind (and) compassionate to one another, forgiving yourselves(=one another), just as [the] God in Christ forgave you.
