1 After the uproar to cease(=After the uproar ceased), having summoned the disciple, and having exhorted (them), having greeted, Paul went out to go to Macedonia.
2 And having gone through those parts, and having exhorted them with many words, he came into [the] Greece.
3 And having spent three months, plot’s being(=because there was plot)1 by the Jews (against) him, being about(=when he was about) to set sail to [the] Syria, he was of mind(=decided) to return through Macedonia.
4 And Sopater, (son) of Pyrrhus from Berea, accompanied him; and Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica; and Gaius from Derbe, and Timothy; and the Asians, Tychicus and Trophimus.
5 And these (men), having gone on ahead, were waiting for us in Troas.
6 And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of Unleavened Bread, and we came to them in [the] Troas until(=in) five days, where we stayed (for) seven days.
7 And on the first day of Sabbaths(=the week), our having been gathered(=as we were gathered)2 to break bread, [the] Paul were speaking to them, being about(=because he was about) to leave the next day, and (he) continued the speech until midnight.
8 There were many lamps in the upper room where we were gathered.
9 And a certain young man by name(=named) Eutychus, sitting on the window, being fallen (into) deep sleep, Paul’s speaking(=while Paul spoke) for a long time, having been overcome from(=by) [the] sleep, he fell down from the third floor and was taken up dead.
10 And having gone down, Paul fell on him, and having embraced (him) said, “Do not be disturbed, because his life is in him.”
11 And having gone up, and having broken the bread, and having eaten, over many(=a long while) having talked until daybreak, so he left.
12 And they brought the lad living, and they were comforted not moderately(=greatly)
13 And we, having gone ahead to the ship, set sail for [the] Assos, there being going to take [the] Paul aboard; because it had been arranged so(=Paul had arranged thus), being going himself to go on foot.
14 And when he met us in [the] Assos, having taken him aboard, we went to Mitylene.
15 And having sailed away there, (on) the next (day) we arrived opposite Chios. And on the other (day) we crossed over to Samos, and (on) the following (day) we came to Miletus.
16 For [the] Paul had decided to sail past [the] Ephesus, so as not to be to him to spend time(=he would not have to spend time) in [the] Asia, because he was hastening, if it were possible for him, to be in Jerusalem (on) the day of Pentecost.
17 And from Miletus, having sent to Ephesus, he called the elders of the church.
18 And when they came to him, he said (to) them, “You know, from (the) first day from which(=that) I set foot in Asia, how I was with you all the time,”
19 “serving the Lord with all humility and tears and trials happening to me by the plots of the Jews,”
20 “And how I held back nothing of the profitable things, [not] to declare(=from declaring) (to) you and to teach(=from teaching) you publicly and from house to house,”
21 “testifying both to (the) Jews and to (the) Greek the repentance to God and faith to our Lord Jesus.”
22 “And now, behold, having been bound by the (Holy) Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing the things to happen(=what will happen) to me in it,”
23 “except that the Holy Spirit in every city testifies to me, saying that bonds and afflictions await me.”
24 “But I make not the(=my) life of any account (as) precious to myself, so as to finish(=so that I may accomplish) my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.”
25 “And now behold, I know that you all, whom I went about proclaiming the kingdom, will see my face no more.”
26 “Therefore, I testify to you on this day that I am clean from the blood of all (men),”
27 “because I did not hold back [not] to declare the all counsel of God to you.”
28 “Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in(=among) which the Holy Spirit put(=made) you superintendents to care the church of God, which he bought through the (his) own blood.”
29 “I know that after my departure ruthless wolves not sparing the flock will come into you.”
30 “And from you yourselves will arise men speaking distorted things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.”
31 “Therefore watch, remembering that for three years I did not stop night and day admonishing every one with tears.”
32 “And now I commit you to the Lord and to the word of his grace, (which) being able to build (you) up and to give (you) the inheritance among all those having been sanctified.”
33 “I have not coveted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing.”
34 “You yourselves know that these hands have ministered to my needs and to the ones being with me.”
35 “All things(=In all respects) I have shown you that so toiling, it is necessary to support the weak and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
36 And having said these things, having placed his knees with them all, he prayed.
37 And there was considerable weeping of all. And having fallen on Paul’s neck, they were kissing him.
38 Being distressed most for the word which he had said that they are going to see his face no more, they were accompanied him to the ship.
