And the apostles and the brothers being throughout Judaea heard that the Gentiles also received the word of God.

And when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the ones from(=of) circumcision were disputing with him,

saying, “You went in to men having uncircumcision, and ate with them.”

And having begun, Peter was explaining to them in order, saying,

“I was praying in (the) city (of) Joppa, and I saw in ecstasy a vision, a certain container like a great sheet coming down, (and) lowering by four corners from heaven. And it came close to me,”

“into which, having looked, I was observing. And I saws the four-legged of the earth, the wild animals, the reptiles, and the birds of the heaven.”

“And I heard also a voice saying to me. ‘Rise up, Peter! Slay and eat.’”

“And I said, ‘Surely not, Lord! [Because] anything common or unclean never entered into my mouth.’”

“And a voice from heaven answered a second time. ‘You must not (call) common that God has cleansed.’”

“This occurred on three time(#accusative of measure), and all things were drawn up again into [the] heaven.”

“And behold, at once three men stood at the house in which I was, having been sent from Caesarea to me.”

“And the Spirit told me to go with them, doubting nothing. And these six brothers also went with me, and we entered into the house of the man.”

“And he told us how he saw the angel in his house, having(=who has) stood and said, ‘Send to Joppa. And bring Simon (who is) also known as Peter,’”

“who will speak words (to) you in which you and your all household will be saved.”

“And [in the] (for) me to begin(=as I began) to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them as upon us in (the) beginning.”

“And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John indeed baptized with water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.’”

“Therefore, if God gave them the same gift as (given) to us (who) having believed on(=in) the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, (being) able to(=that I could) hinder God?”

And having heard these things, they were silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then God has given even [to] the Gentile the repentance to life.”

But therefore(=Now)1 the ones having been scattered from(on account of, # causal) the persecution having occurred over Stephen went through to Phoenicia, and Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to none except only Jews.

But there were some men of(=from) Cyprus and Cyrene among them, who, having come to Antioch, were speaking even to the Greeks, preaching the Lord Jesus.

And (the) hand of (the) Lord was with them. And a great number, having believed, turned to the Lord.

And the news about them was heard to the ears of the church being in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to Antioch,

who, having arrived and seen the grace of God, rejoiced and was exhorting (them) all with purpose(=with resolve)2 of heart to remain to the Lord,

[Because] he was a good man, and full of (the) Holy Spirit and of faith. And a considerable crowd was added to the Lord.

And he went out to Tarsus to look for Saul.

And having found, he brought (Saul) to Antioch. And it happened for them to be together in the church a whole year, [and] to teach a considerable crowd, and for the disciples to be called Christians firstly in Antioch.

And in these days prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.

And having risen up, one of them, Agabus by name(#dative of respect), indicated(=predicted) through the Spirit a great famine to be about to be(=would be) all over the world, which happened on of(=in the time of)3 Claudius.

And as (much as) anyone of the disciples was prosperous(=could afford), they determined (for) each of them to send [for] service(=aid) to the brothers dwelling in [the] Judaea,

which indeed they did, having sent to the elders through (the) hand of Barnabas and Saul.
