1 And in the day of Pentecost to be completed(=when the day of Pentecost was come)1, they were all together in the same (place).

2 And there was suddenly from the heaven a sound as of being carried(=rushing) of strong wind. And it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared to them tongues separating like as of fire. And it sat upon each one of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. And they began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them to utter.

5 Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from [the] every nation[s] under heaven.

6 Having happened of this voice(=When this sound happened)2, the multitude came together, and were confused, because each one heard their speaking in his own language.

7 And they were being amazed and marvelled, saying, “Behold, are not all these (who are) speaking Galileans?”

8 “And how do we, each of us, hear (in) our own language in which we were born?”

9 “Parthians and Medes and Elimites, and the ones inhabiting (in) Mesopotamia, both Judaea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,”

10 “both Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and the temporarily residing Romans,”

11 “both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabs, we hear their speaking in our language the might works of God.”

12 And they were all amazed and were greatly perplexed, saying one to another, “What does this mean?”

13 But others, mocking, were saying, “[that] They are having been filled(=have been filled)3 with new wines.”

14 But having stood up with the eleven, Peter with the eleven raised his voice and addressed to them. “Men of Jews and all (of you) inhabiting (at) Jerusalem! Let this be known (to) you. And give ear to my words.”

15 “For these (men) are not drunk as you suppose, because it is the third hour of the day.”

16 “But this is the thing having been spoken through the prophet Joel.”

17 “And it shall be in the last days, God says, ‘I will pour out from my Spirit upon every flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.’

18 ‘And upon my male servants and upon my female servants, in those days, I will pour out from my Spirit, and they will prophesy.’

19 ‘And I will give wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below: blood and fire and steam of smoke.’

20 ‘The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of (the) Lord to come(=come).’

21 ‘And it shall be (that) everyone who might call upon the name of (the) Lord will be saved.’

22 “Men of Israelites, hear these words. Jesus the Nazareth, a man having been approved from God among you by mighty deeds and wonders and signs which God did through him in the midst of you as you yourselves know,”

23 “this (man) given up by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, having crucified through (the) hand of lawless (men), you killed,”

24 “whom God raised up, having loosen the birth-pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it.”

25 “For David says about him. ‘I was seeing the Lord before me always, because on my right (side) he is, lest I may not be shaken.’”

26 ‘Therefore, my heart has been glad, and my tongue has rejoiced. And still my flesh also will dwell on hope.’

27 ‘Because you will not abandon my soul in hell, nor will you give(=let) your holy one to see corruption.’

28 ‘You have made known to me ways of life. You will fill me (with) gladness with your face(=in your presence).’

29 “Men, Brothers, being necessary(=it is necessary) to speak with openness (to) you about the patriarch David, that he died and was buried, and his tomb is in us until this day.”

30 “Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing(# perfect participle as present meaning) that God swore to him (with) an oath (for that one) from (the) fruit of his loin to sit on his throne,”

31 “having foreseen, he spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned in hell nor did his flesh see corruption.”

32 “God has raised up this Jesus, of which we all are witnesses.”

33 “Therefore, having been exalted by the right (hand) of God, having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, he poured out this which you both see and hear.”

34 “For David (is) not (the one) ascended to the heavens, but he says himself. ‘The Lord said (to) my Lord, Sit at my right (side).’”

35 “Until I put(=make) your enemies a footstool of your feet.”

36 “Securely, therefore let all the house of Israel know that God made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

37 And having heard, they were cut to the heart(# acc. of respect), and they said (to) [the] Peter and the remaining apostles, “What shall we do, men, brother?”

38 And Peter (said) to them, “Repent!, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for(# of purpose) the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

39 “For (to) you is the promise, and to your children, and to all the ones (who are) far away, as many as the Lord our God might(=will) call.”

40 And with many(# comparative) other words, he solemnly witnessed. And he was exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this crooked generation.”

41 So the ones having accepted his word were baptized, and about three thousand souls(=persons)4 were added in that day.

42 And they were continuing faithfully(=devoted) to the teaching of the apostles, and to the fellowship, to the breaking of the bread, and to the prayers.

43 And fear was happening to every soul(=person)5. And many wonders and signs through the apostles were happening.

44 And all the ones believing were in the same (place) and had all things (in) common.

45 And they were selling the possesions and the goods, and were distributing them to everyone, according that anyone was having need(=had need).

46 Day by day, both remaining (much time) with one mind in the temple and breaking bread from house to house, they were sharing food in gladness and simplicity of heart,

47 praising [the] God, and having favour with the whole people. And the Lord was adding to them the ones being saved day by day.
