1 Now (on) the first (day) of the week, Mary Magdalene comes to the tomb early, darkness’ being yet(=while it was still dark)1, and sees the stone having been taken away from the tomb.

2 So she runs and comes to Simon Peter and to the other disciple, whom [the] Jesus was loving, and says (to) them, “They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we do not know where they have put him.”

3 So the Peter and the other disciple went out, and were coming to the tomb.

4 And the two were running together. And the other disciple ran ahead faster (than) Peter, and came first to the tomb.

5 And having bent down, he sees the strips of linen lying (there), but he did not enter.

6 So Simon Peter also comes, following him, and he went into the tomb. and he sees the strips of linen lying (there),

7 and the napkin, which was on his head, not lying with the strips of linen but having been rolled up in one place by itself.

8 So then the other disciple having come first to the tomb entered, and saw and believed,

9 for they still was not knowing(# pluperfect as imperfect) the Scripture, that it is necessary for him to rise from (the) dead.

10 So the disciples went away again to themselves(=to their homes).

11 And Mary was standing(# pluperfect as imperfect) outside at the tomb, weeping. So as she was weeping, she bent down into the tomb.

12 And she sees two angels in white, sitting where Jesus’ body was lying, one at the head and one at the feet.

13 And those say to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She says (to) them, “[that] They have taken away my Lord. And I do not know where they put him.”

14 Having said these things, she turned [to the] back, and sees [the] Jesus standing(# perfect as present), and was not knowing(# pluperfect as imperfect) that it was Jesus.

15 Jesus says (to) her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” Supposing that he is the gardener, that (woman) says (to) him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”

16 Jesus says (to) her, “Mary.” That (woman), having turned, says (to) him in Hebrew, “Rabboni!” (which is said, Teacher).

17 Jesus says (to) her, “Do not hold me, for I have not yet ascend to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, (to) my God and your God.’”

18 Mary Magdalene goes, announcing to the disciples, “[that] I have seen the Lord and he said these things to her.”

19 So evening’s being(=when it was evening)2 (on) that first (day) of the week, and the doors’ having been locked(=when the doors were locked)3 where the disciples were because of the fear of the Jews, [the] Jesus came and stood in the midst and says (to) them, “Peace (be with) you.”

20 And having said this, he showed them both the(=his) hands and the(=his) side. So the disciples rejoiced, having seen the Lord.

21 So [the] Jesus said (to) them again, “Peace (be with) you. As the Father has sent me, I also send you.”

22 And having said this, he breathed on (them) and says (to) them, “Receive (the) Holy Spirit.”

23 “If you [might] forgive the sins of anyone, they have been(=are) forgiven to them. If you [may] retain (the sins) of anyone, they have been(=are) retained.”

24 And Thomas, one of the twelve, being called Twin, was not with them when Jesus came.

25 So the other disciples were saying to him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said (to) them, “Unless I [might] see in his hands the mark of the nails, and [might] put my finger in the place of the nails, and [might] put my hand in his side, I will not believe.”

26 And after eight days his disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. [The] Jesus comes, the doors’ having been locked(=when the doors were locked)4, and stood in the midst and said, “Peace (be with) you.”

27 Then he says (to) Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and see my hands. And reach your hand and put (it) in my side. And do not be faithless, but believing.

28 Thomas answered and said (to) him, “My Lord and my God!”

29 [The] Jesus says (to) him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed (are) the ones having not seen and (yet) having believed.”

30 So [the] Jesus did many [and] other signs before the disciples, which is(=are) not [having been] written in this book.

31 And these has been written(=are written) so that you may belive that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God, and so that you, believing, may have life in his name.
