(=alt.word)  ·  (added word)  ·  [omit]

So six days before the Passover, [the] Jesus came to Bethany where Lazarus was, whom Jesus (had) raised from (the) dead.

So they made him a supper there. And [the] Martha was serving, but [the] Lazarus was one of the ones reclining at table with him.

So Mary, having taken a pound of costly ointment of pure nard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet (with) her hairs. And the house was filled of(=with) the fragrance of the ointment.

And Judas the Iscariot, one of his disciples, the one being about to betray him, says,

“Why was this ointment not sold (for) three hundred denarii and given to (the) poor?”

And he said this not because it mattered to him(=he cared) about the poor but because he was a thief; and having the money box, he was carrying the things being put (into it).

So [the] Jesus said, “Let her alone, that she might observe(=has kept) it for the day of my burial.”

“because you always have the poor with yourselves(=you), but you do not always have me.”

So the great crowd of the Jews learned that he is(=was) there. And they came not only because of [the] Jesus, but that they might also see [the] Lazarus whom he (had) raised from the dead.

And the high priests plotted that they might kill [the] Lazarus also,

because on account of him many of the Jews were going(=leaving) and were believing in [the] Jesus.

The next day, the great crowd having come to the feast, having heard that Jesus is(=was) coming into Jerusalem,

took the branches of palm trees, and went to a meeting (with) him, and were crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed (is) the One coming in (the) name of (the) Lord, and the King of Israel!”

And [the] Jesus, having found a young donkey, sat on it, as it is [having been] written,

“Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt.”

His disciples did not know these things at first. But when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were having been written(=had been written) about him and they did these things to him.

So the crowd being with him when he called [the] Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from (the) dead was bearing witness.

Therefore the crowd also met him, because they heard him to have done(=that he had done) this sign.

So the Pharisees said (to) themselves, “See, [that] you are doing no good(=you can do nothing). Look, the world has gone after him.”

Now there were some Greeks of(=among) the ones going up that they might worship(=to worship) at the feast.

So these (people) approached to Philip, the one from Bethsaida of Galilee, and they were asking him, saying, “Sir, we wish to see [the] Jesus.”

[The] Philip comes and says (to) Andrew. Andrew and Philip come and say to Jesus.

And [the] Jesus answers them, saying, “The time has come that the Son of Man might(=may) be glorified.”

“Truly, truly, I say (to) you, ‘Unless a grain of wheat, having fallen into the ground, [might] dies, it remains alone. But if it [might] dies, it bears much fruit.”

“The one loving his life loses it, and the one hating his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.”

“If anyone [may] serves me, let him follow me. And where I am, there my servant will be also. If anyone [may] serves me, the Father will honor him.”

“Now my soul has been troubled(=is troubled), and what might(=shall) I say? Father, save me from this hour. But because of this, I came to this hour.”

“Father, glorify your name.” So a voice came from [the] heaven, “[and] I have glorified (it) and will glorify (it) again.”

So the crowd, having stood(=standing)1 and having heard, was saying thunder to have been(=it had thundered). Others were saying, “An angel has spoken to him.”

Jesus answered and said, “This voice has come not because of me but because of you.”

“Now is (the) judgment of this world, now the ruler of this world will be cast out.”

“And if I might be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all (people) to myself.”

And he was saying this, indicating by what death he was about to die.

So the crowd answered him, “We heard from the law that the Christ remains into the age(=forever); and how (can) you say that it is necessary (for) the Son of Man to be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?”

So [the] Jesus said (to) them, “Yet (for) a little time(=longer) the light is in(=with) you. Walk while you have the light, lest (the) darkness [might] overtake you. And the one walking in the darkness does not know(# perfect as present) where he is going.”

“While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you might(=may) become sons of light.” Jesus spoke these things, and having gone away, he was hidden from them. 37 And his having done(=although he had done)2 so many signs before them, they were not believing in him,

that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he said, “Lord, who has believed our message, and to whom has the arm of (the) Lord been revealed?”

For this they were not able to believe, because Isaiah said again,

“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, that they might not see (with) the eyes and might (not) understand (with) the heart and might (not) turn, and I will(=would) heal them.”

Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory, and spoke about him.

Nevertheless, however, many even of the rulers believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they were not confessing, lest they would be put out of the synagogue.

For they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God.

And Jesus cried out and said, “The one believing in me does not believe in me but in the One having sent me,”

“And the one seeing me sees the One having sent me.”

“I have come (as) a light into the world, that everyone believing in me might(=may) not remain in the darkness.”

“And if anyone [might] hears my sayings and might(=does) not keep, I do not judge him, for I did not come so that I might judge(=to judge) the world but so that I might save(=to save) the world.”

“The one rejecting me and not receiving my sayings has the one judging him. The word that I spoke, that (same) one will judge him in the last day.”

“For I have not spoken from myself(=on my own), but the Father having sent me has given me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak.”

“And I know that his commandment is eternal life. So what I speak, just as the Father has said (to) me, so I speak.
