(=alt.word)  ·  (added word)  ·  [omit]

And Jesus went to the Mount of [the] Olives.

(At) dawn(# genitive of time) he appeared in the temple; all the people were coming to him; and having sit, he was teaching them.

And the scribes and the Pharisees bring a woman having been caught on(=in) adultery, and having stood her in (the) midst,

they say to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of committing adultery.”

“And in the law, Moses commanded us to stone such (women). So what do you say?”

And they were saying this, tempting him, that they may(=might) have (something) to accuse him. But [the] Jesus, having bent down, was writing (with) the finger in(=on) the ground.

And as they continued questioning him, he stood up and said (to) them, “Let the sinless one among you throw a stone at her first.”

And having bent down again, he was writing in(=on) the ground.

And they, having heard, were going out one by one, beginning from the elders, and he was left alone, and the woman being(=was) in (the) midst.

And [the] Jesus, having stood up, said (to) her, “Woman, where is(=are) they? Has no one condemned you?”

And the (woman) said, “No one, Lord.” And [the] Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go, from [the] now sin no more.”

So [the] Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. The one following me might(=will) never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”

So the Pharisees said (to) him, “You are testifying about yourself(=on your own behalf). Your testimony is not true.”

Jesus answered and said (to) them, “Even if I testify about myself(=on my own behalf), my testimony is true, because I know where I came from and where I am going. You do not know where I come from or where I go.”

“You judge according to the flesh; I [not] judge no one.”

“But even if I judge, my judgment is true, because I am not alone, but I and the Father having sent me.”

“And in your law it has been written that the testimony of two men is true.”

“I am the one testifying about myself(=on my own behalf), and the Father having sent me testifies about me(=on my behalf).”

So they were saying to him, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew(# pluperfect as imperfect) me, you would have known my Father.”

He spoke these sayings in the treasury, teaching in the temple. And no one seized him, because his time had not come yet.

So he said (to) them again, “I go, and you will seek me, and in your sin you will die. Where I go, you are not able to come.”

So the Jews were saying, “Will [not(# expecting the answer ‘No’)] he kill himself, because he says, ‘Where I go, you are able to come’?”

And he was saying to them, “You are from the below things, I am from the above things. You are from this world, I am not from this world.”

“So I said (to) you that you will die in your sins; for if you might(=do) not believe that I am (He), you will die in your sins.”

So they were saying to him, “Who are you?” [The] Jesus said (to) them, “Just what I speak(=have spoken) (to) you (from) the beginning.”

“I have many things to speak and judge about you, but the One having sent me is true, and I speak to the world these things that I heard from Him.”

They did not understand that he was speaking to them (of) the Father

So [the] Jesus said, “When you [might] lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am (He), and (that) I do nothing from myself(=on my own), but I speak these things as the Father taught me.”

“And the One having sent me is with me. He did not leave me alone, because I always do the things pleasing him.

His speaking(=As he spoke)1 these things, many believed in him.

So [the] Jesus was saying to the Jews having believed him, “If you [might] remain in my word, you are truly my disciples.”

“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

They answered [to] him, “We are Abraham’s seed. We have never been slaves to no(=any) one. How do you say, ‘[that] You will be made free’?”

[The] Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say (to) you, [that] every one doing(=committing) sin is a slave of sin.”

“And the salve does not remain in the house into the age(=forever). The son remains into the age(=forever).”

“So if the Son [might] sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

“I know that you are Abraham’s seed. But you seek to kill me, because my word finds no room in you.”

“I speak what I have seen beside the Father. And you do what you have heard from (your) father.”

They answered and said (to) him, “Our father is Abraham.” [The] Jesus says (to) them, “If you are Abraham’s children, you (would) do the deeds of Abraham.”

“But now you seek to kill me, a man who has spoken (to) you the truth which I heard from [the] God. Abraham did not do this.”

“You do the deeds of your father.” They said (to) him, “We were not born of fornication. We have one Father, [the] God.”

[The] Jesus said (to) them, “If your father were God, you would love(# unreal condition) me, for I came from [the] God and am here, for I have not come from myself(=on my own), but that One sent me.”

“Why do you not understand my speech? Because you are not able to hear my word.”

“You are from(=of) the(=your) father, the devil, and you want to do your father’s desires. That one was murderer from (the) beginning. And he has not stood in the truth, because there is not truth in him. When he [may] speaks the(=a) lie, he speaks from his own things, for he is a liar and the father of it.”

“And because I say the truth, you do not believe me.”

“Which of you convicts me about sin? If I tell (the) truth, why do you not believe me?”

“The one being from [the] God hears the sayings of God. So you do not hear, because you are not from God.”

The Jews answered and said (to) him, “Do we not say rightly that your are a Samaritan and have a demon?”

Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon, But I honor my Father, and you dishonor me.”

“And I do not seek my glory; there is the One seeking and judging.”

“Truly, truly, I say (to) you, ‘If anyone [might] keeps my word, he might(=will) never see death into the age(=forever).’”

The Jews said (to) him, “Now we have known that you have a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets. And you say, ‘If anyone [might] keeps my word, he might(=will) never taste death into the age(=forever).’”

“Are [not(# expecting the answer ‘No’)] you greater (than) our father Abraham, who died? And the prophets died. Who do you make yourself?”

Jesus answered, “If I [might] glorify myself, my glory is nothing. My Father is the One glorifying me, whom you say, ‘[that] He is our God.’”

“And you have not known Him, but I know Him. If I say that I do not know Him, I shall be a liar like you. But I know Him, and I keep His word.”

“Abraham your father rejoiced that he would see my day. And he saw and was glad.”

So the Jews said (to) him, “You are not yet fifty years (old), and have you seen Abraham?”

Jesus said (to) them, “Truly, truly, I say (to) you, I am before Abraham to become(=before Abraham was).”

So they took stones so that they might(=may) throw (the stones) at him. And Jesus hid himself(# aorist passive for reflective sense) and went out of the temple.
