1 After these things there was a feast of the Jews. And Jesus went up into Jerusalem.

2 And there is a pool in [the] Jerusalem at the Sheep (Gate), in Hebrew being called Bethesda, having five porches.

3 In these (porches) were lying a multitude of the ailing ones, blind, lame, paralyzed.

4 Because according to time(=from time to time) an angel of the Lord came down in the pool and stirred up the water. So the first one having stepped in after the stirring of the water was made well of whatever disease he was being held(=had).

5 And there was a certain man having [in] his infirmity thirty-eight years.

6 [The] Jesus, having seen this (man) lying and having known that he has(=had been) already much(=a long) time, says (to) him, “Do you want to be made well?”

7 The ailing one answered him, “Lord, I have no man that he might put(=to put) me into the pool when the water might be(=is) stirred up. And in which(=while) I am coming, another goes down ahead of me.”

8 [The] Jesus says (to) him, “Rise, take your mat and walk.”

9 And immediately the man was made well, and took his mat and was walking. And (the) Sabbath was on that (same) day.

10 So the Jews were saying to the one having been healed, “It is (the) Sabbath. And it is not necessary (for) you to take the mat.”

11 And the (man) answered them, “The One having made me well, that One said (to) me, ‘Take your mat and walk.’”

12 They asked him, “Who is the man having said (to) you, ‘Take and walk’?”

13 But the one having been healed did not know(# pluperfect as imperfect) who it was, for [the] Jesus (had) withdrawn, crowd’s being(=as there was a crowd)1 in the place.

14 After these things, [the] Jesus finds him in the temple and said (to) him, “Behold, you have been made well! Sin no more, lest something worse might(=may) not happen to you.”

15 The man went away and said (to) the Jews that it is(=was) Jesus (who) having(=had) made him well.

16 And because of this, the Jews were persecuting [the] Jesus because he was doing(=did) these things on (the) Sabbath.

17 And he answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.”

18 Because of this, therefore, the Jews were seeking (all the) more to kill him, because not only he had broken the Sabbath, but also he was calling [the] God (his) own Father, making himself equal (with) [the] God.

19 Therefore [the] Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say (to) you, the Son cannot [to] do nothing(=anything) from(=by) himself, except what he [may] sees the Father doing, because whatever that One [may] does, these the Son also does likewise.”

20 “For the Father loves the Son and shows him all things which he does, and he will show him greater work (than) these, so that you may marvel.”

21 “For as the Father raises the dead and gives (them) life, so also the Son gives life (to) whom he will.”

22 “For the Father [not] judges no one, but he has given all judgement to the Son,”

23 “so that all may honor the Son just as they [may] honor the Father. The one not honoring the Son does not honor the Father having sent him.”

24 “Truly, truly, I say (to) you, ‘[that] The one hearing my word and believing the One having sent me has eternal life and does not come into judgment but has passed from [the] death into [the] life.’”

25 “Truly, truly, I say (to) you, ‘[that] (The) time is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and the ones having heard will live.’”

26 “For as the Father has life in himself, so he also has given to the Son to have life in himself.”

27 “And he gave him authority to do judgment, because he is (the) Son of Man.”

28 “Do not marvel (at) this, for (the) time is coming in which(=when) all the ones in the tombs will hear his voice.”

29 “And will come forth, the ones having done the good things, to (the) resurrection of life, (and) the ones having practiced the evil things, to (the) resurrection of judgment.”

30 “I can[not to] do nothing from(=by) myself. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous, because I do not seek my will but the will of the One having sent me.”

31 “If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.”

32 “There is another testifying about me, And I know that the testimony that he testifies about me is true.”

33 “You have sent to John, and he has testified to the truth.”

34 “But I do not receive the testimony from man, but I say these things so that you might(=may) be saved.”

35 “That (man) was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.”

36 “And I have the testimony greater (than) John. For the works that the Father has granted me so that I might(=may) complete, these very works that I do testify about me that the Father has sent me.”

37 “And the Father having sent me, that One has testified about me. You have ever heard neither his voice, nor [you have ever] seen his form.”

38 “And you have not his word abiding in you, because you do not believe this one whom that One has sent.”

39 “You search the Scripture, because you think in them to have(you have) eternal life. And those are the (words) testifying about me.”

40 “And you do not want to come to me so that you may have life.”

41 “I do not receive glory from men.”

42 “But I know(# perfect as present) you that you do not have the love of God in yourselves.”

43 “I have come in the name of my Father, and you do not receive me. If another [might] comes in his own name, you will receive that one.”

44 “How can you [to] believe, receiving(=who receive) glory from one another and do not seek the glory from the only God?”

45 “Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. The one accusing you is Moses, in whom you have hoped(=trust).”

46 “For if you believed Moses, you would have believed(# unreal condition) me, for that one wrote about me.”

47 “But if you do not believe letters(=writings) of that one, how will you believe my sayings?”
