1 And he was telling them a parable, for them to need(=that they ought) always to pray and not to lose heart,
2 saying, “There was a certain judge in a certain city, not fearing [the] God and not regarding man.”
3 “And there was a widow in that city. And she was coming(=kept coming) to him, saying, ‘Vindicate me from(=against) my adversary!’”
4 “And he was not wanting(=would not) for a time(=while), but after these things(=afterwards) he said in(=to) himself, ‘Though I do not fear [the] God nor regard man,’”
5 “Because of this widow to give me trouble(=Because this widow bothers me), I will vindicate her, lest she may wear (me) out (by her) coming in end(=continuously).”
6 And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says.”
7 “Might(=Will) not [the] God make the vindication of his chosen ones crying out to him day and night? Does(=Will) he delay long over them?”
8 “I say (to) you, [that] he will make their vindication in speed(=quickly). Nevertheless, will the Son of Man, having come, find [the] faith on the earth?”
9 And to some having trusted in themselves that they are(=were) righteous and despising the others, he said also this parable.
10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.”
11 “The Pharisee, having stood, was praying these things(=thus) to(=about) himself, ‘[The] God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of(=other) men, robbers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.’”
12 “I fast twice of the week(=a week), I give tithes (of) all things that I get.”
13 “But the tax collector, standing(# perfect as present) far off, was not wanting(=would not) even [to] lift up the(=his) eyes to [the] heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘[The] God, be merciful to me a sinner!’”
14 I say (to) you, “This (man), having been justified (before God), went down to his house rather than that (man). For everyone exalting himself will be humbled, and the one humbling himself will be exalted.”
15 And they were bringing even [the] infants to him that he may(=might) touch them. But the disciples, having seen (it), were rebuking them.
16 But [the] Jesus called them, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them. For of such is the kingdom of God.”
17 “Truly I say (to) you, ‘Whoever might(=does) not receive the kingdom of God like a child might(=will) never go into it.’”
18 And a certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what having done(=What shall I do) (so that) I might(=may) inherit eternal life?”
19 And [the] Jesus said (to) him, “Why do you call me good? No one (is) good except One, [the] God.”
20 “You know(# perfect as present) the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not give false testimony, Honor your father and mother.’”
21 And he said, “I have kept all these things from (my) youth.”
22 And [the] Jesus, having heard (it), said (to) him, “One thing still lacks(# impersonal) to you(=You still lack one thing). Sell all things that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in [the] heaven. And come, follow me.”
23 And he, having heard these things, became sad, because he was very rich.
24 And having seen him, [the] Jesus said, “How hard it is (for) the ones having riches (to) go into the kingdom of God!”
25 “For it is easier (for) a camel to enter through (the) eye of a needle than (for) a rich man to go into the kingdom of God.”
26 And the ones hearing (it) said, “And who is able to be saved?”
27 And he said, “The things (which are) impossible with men is(=are) possible with [the] God.”
28 And [the] Peter said, “Behold, we, having left our own things, have followed you.”
29 And he said (to) them, “Truly I say (to) you, that no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God”
30 “[who] might(=will) not receive many times over in this times and in the coming age eternal life.”
31 And having taken the twelve, he said (to) them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all thing having been written (about) the Son of Man by the prophets will be accomplished.”
32 “For he will be delivered to the Gentiles and will be mocked and will be insulted and will be spat upon”
33 “And having scourged, they will kill him. And (on) the third day, he will rise.”
34 And they understood none of these things. And this saying was [having been] hidden(# periphrastic pluperfect) from them, and they did not know the things being said.
35 And it happened, in the him to draw near(=as he drew near) to Jericho, that a certain blind (man) sat by the road begging.
36 And having heard a crowd’s passing by, he asked what this might be(=meant)1.
37 And they told him, “[that] Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.”
38 And he cried, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
39 And the ones (who are) going before was rebuking him that he should be quiet, but he was shouting all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
40 And having stood, [the] Jesus ordered him to be brought to him. And his having drawn(=when he came near)2, he asked him,
41 “What do you want that I might do(=me to do) (for) you? And he said, ‘Lord, that I might(=may) see again.’”
42 And [the] Jesus said (to) him, “See again(=Receive your sight), your faith has saved(=healed) you.”
43 And immediately he saw again(=received his sight) and was following him, glorifying [the] God. And all the people, having seen (it), gave praise to God.
