1 And it happened afterwards, [and] (that) he was traveling every(# distributive) city and town, proclaiming and bringing good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve (were) with him,
2 and some women who were having been healed(=had been healed)1 of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, being called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out;
3 and Joanna (the) wife of Cuza, (the) manager of Herod’s (household); and Susanna; and many others, who were providing for them out of their (own) means.
4 And a great crowd’s gathering(=when a large crowd was gathering together)2 and the ones’ coming to him from each city(=when the people were coming to him out of every city)3, he said by a parable.
5 “The sowing one went out to sow his seed. And in the him to sow(=as he sowed), some fell by the way side and was trodden down, and the birds of the heaven(=air) ate it up.”
6 “And other (seed) fell on the rock, and having grown, it [was] withered because of not to have(=having no) moisture.”
7 “And other (seed) fell among [the] thorns. And having grown with (it), the thorns choked it.”
8 “And other (seed) fell in the good soil, and having grown, it bore fruit a hundredfold.” Saying these things, he was calling out, “The one having ears to hear, let him hear.”
9 And his disciples were asking him what this parable might be(=meant)4.
10 And he said, “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God. But to the rest(=others) (it has been given) in parables, so that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.”
11 “And(=Now) the parable is this. The seed is the word of God.”
12 “And the ones by the way side are the ones having heard, (and) then the devil comes and takes the word from their heart, lest they, having believed, might(=may) be saved.”
13 “And the ones on the rock (are those) who, when they [might] hear, with joy receive the word. But these have no root, who believe for a while and in (the) time of temptation fall away.”
14 “And the one having fallen among the thorns, these are the ones having heard, and going on (their way), they are choked by worries and riches and pleasures of life, and they do not mature.”
15 “And the one in the good soil, these are (those) who in(=with) noble and good heart, having heard the word, hold it fast and bear fruit in(=with) patience.”
16 “And no one, having lit a lamp, covers it (with) a vessel or puts (it) under a bed, but puts on a lampstand, so that those coming in may see the light.”
17 “For (there) is nothing hidden that might(=shall) not be made manifest. And (there is) no secret that might(=shall) not be known and might(=shall not) come to (be) manifest.”
18 “Therefore, watch out how you hear. For whoever [may] has will be given to him, and whoever may(=does) not have will be taken from him even what he thinks to have.”
19 And his mother and brothers came to him, and(=but) they were not able to reach him because of the crowd.
20 And it was reported to him, “Your mother and your brothers have been(=are)5 standing outside, wanting to see you.”
21 And he, having answered, said (to) them, “My mother and my brothers are these (who are) hearing and doing the word of God.”
22 And it happened, on one of the days, [and] (that) he embarked into a boat and his disciples (did). And he said (to) them, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” And they set out.
23 And their sailing(=as they sailed)6, he fell asleep. And a storm of wind came down to the lake, and they were being filled up and being in danger.
24 And having approached, they woke him, saying, “Master, master, we are perishing.” And he, having been awakened, rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm.
25 And he said (to) them, “Where (is) your faith?” And having feared, they marveled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that he commands even the wind and the water, and they obey him.”
26 And they sailed down to the country of the Gerasenes, which is opposite [the] Galilee.
27 And [him] having gone out on the land(=as he stepped out on land), a certain man from the city who having demons met (him). And for a long time he had not worn clothe(s), and he was staying not in a house but in the tombs.
28 And having seen [the] Jesus, having cried out, he fell down before him, and said (with) a loud voice, “What (is there) to me and to you(=What have you to do with me), Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torture me!”
29 For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For many times it had seized him, and he was being bound (with) chains and fetters, being guarded, and he, breaking the binds, was being driven from(=by) the demon into the wildernesses.
30 And [the] Jesus asked him, “What name is to you?” And he said, “Legion,” for many demons had gone into him.
31 And they were beseeching him that he might(=would) not command them to go into the abyss.
32 And there was a herd of many pigs feeding in the mountain. And they besought him that he might allow them to go into those. And he allowed them.
33 And the demons, having come out of the man, went into the pigs. And the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.
34 And the feeding ones, having seen the thing having happened, fled and reported (this) in the city and in the countries.
35 And they went out to see the thing having happened, and came to [the] Jesus. And they found the man sitting, from whom the demons went out, having been clothed and being in his right mind at Jesus’ feet. And they were afraid.
36 And the ones having seen how the demon-possessed one was healed reported to them.
37 And all the multitude of the surrounding country of the Gerasenes asked him to depart from them, because they were being seized with great fear. So he, having gotten into a boat, returned.
38 And the man from whom the demons had gone out begged him to be with him. But he sent him away, saying,
39 “Return to your house, and tell what things(=how much) [the] God has done to you.” And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what things(=how much) [the] Jesus has done to him.
40 And in the Jesus to return(=when Jesus returned)7, the crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting(# paraphrastic imperfect) him.
41 And behold, a man to whom name Jairus (was given)(=named Jairus) came, and this was a ruler of the synagogue, and having fallen at Jesus feet, he was beseeching him to go into his house,
42 for only [born] daughter was to him, about twelve years, and she was dying. And in him to go(=when he went), the crowd was pressing round him.
43 And a woman being in a flow of blood from(=for) twelve years, who was not able to be healed from(=by) anyone.
44 Having approached behind, she touched the edge of his cloth. And immediately her flow of the blood stopped.
45 And [the] Jesus said, “Who (is) the one having touched me?” And all’s denying(=when all denied)8, [the] Peter said, “Master, the crowds are seizing you and pressing (upon you).”
46 And [the] Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I perceived power having gone out(=that power has gone out) from me.”
47 And the woman, having seen that she was not hidden, came trembling. And having fallen down before him, she declared before all the people for what reason(=why) she touched him and how she had been immediately healed.
48 And he said (to) her, “Daughter, your faith has saved(=healed) you. Go in peace.”
49 His speaking yet(=While he was still speaking)9, someone comes from (the house) of the synagogue-ruler, saying, “[that] Your daughter has died. Do not trouble the teacher any more.”
50 And [the] Jesus, heaving heard, answered him, “Do not fear. Only believe, and she will be saved(=healed).”
51 And having come into the house, he did not allowed anyone to enter with him, except Peter and John and James and the father of the child and the mother.
52 And all were weeping and were mourning (for) her. And he said, “Do not weep. She has not been dead(=is not dead) but sleeps.”
53 And they were laughing at him, knowing(# perfect as present) that she died.
54 And he, having taken her hand, called, saying, “[the] Child, arise.”
55 And her spirit returned, and she stood up immediately. And he ordered (something) to be given her to eat.
56 And her parents were astonished. And he charged them to tell no one the thing having happened(=what had happened).
