(=alt.word)  ·  (added word)  ·  [omit]

And it happened, in the crowd to press upon him and to hear(=as the crowd pressed upon him and heard) the word of God, [and] (that) he was having stood(=standing)1 by the lake of Gennesaret,

and he saw two boats having stood(=standing)2 by the lake. But the fishermen, having gone out of them(=boats), were washing the nets.

And having gone [on board] into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And having sat, he was teaching the crowds from the boat.

And when he finished speaking, he said (to) [the] Simon, “Put out into the deep (water), and let down your nets for a catch.”

And having answered, Simon said, “Master, having worked hard through whole night, we have taken nothing, but at your word I will let down the nets.”

And having done this, they enclose a great number of fish. And their nets were breaking.

And they signaled to the(=their) partners in the other boat [the] having come to help them(=that they should come to help them). And they came and filled both the boats, so as them to sink(=so that they began to sink).

And having seen, Simon Peter fell down (at) Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, (O) Lord.”

For astonishment at the catch of the fish which they had taken gripped him and all the ones with him,

and likewise both James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were sharers (with) Simon. [The] Jesus said to the Simon, “Do not be afraid; from [the] now on you will be catching(=will catch)3 men.”

And having brought down the boats on the land, having left all things, they followed him.

And it happened, in the him to be(=when he was) in one of the cities, [and] (that) behold, a man full of leprosy. And having seen [the] Jesus, having fallen on his face, he begged him, saying, “Lord, if you [may] will, you can make me clean.”

And having stretched out the(=his) hand, he touched him, saying, “I am willing, Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy departed from him.

And he ordered him, “to tell no one(=Don’t tell anyone), but having gone away, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”

But the word(=news) about him was spreading (all the) more, and great crowds were coming together to hear and to be healed from(=of) their sicknesses.

And he was withdrawing(# periphrastic imperfect) in the deserts and (was) praying(# periphrastic imperfect).

And it happened, in(=on) one of the days, [and] (that) he was teaching(# periphrastic imperfect), and Pharisees and teachers of the law, who were having come(=had come)4 from every village of Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem, were sitting(# periphrastic imperfect). And (the) power of (the) Lord was in(=with) [the] him to heal.

And behold, men bringing on a mat a man who was [having been] paralyzed, and they were seeking to bring him in and to lay him before him(=Jesus).

And not finding how they [might] bring him in because of the crowd, having gone up on the roof, they lowered him with the mat through the tiles(=roof) into the midst before [the] Jesus.

And having seen their faith, he said, “Man, your sins have been(=are) forgiven to you.”

And the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, saying, “Who is this (man) who speaks blasphemies? Who is able to(=can) forgive sins but [the] God only?”

And [the] Jesus, having discerned their questionings, having answered, said (to) them, “Why do you question in your hearts?”

“Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins have been(=are) forgiven to you,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk?’”

“But that you may(# perfect as present) know that the Son of Man has authority on [the] earth to forgive sins.” He said (to) the [having been] paralyzed one, “I say (to) you, rise, and having taken your mat, go to your house.”

And immediately having risen up before them, having taken up (that) on which he was lying, he went away to his house, glorifying [the] God.

And amazement seized all. And they were glorifying [the] God, and they were filled of(=with) fear, saying, “[that] We saw wonderful things today.”

And after these things, he(=Jesus) went out, and saw a tax collector, Levi by name, sitting at the tax office, and said (to) him, “Follow me.”

And having left all things, having risen up, he was following him.

And Levi made him a great banquet in his house. And there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others who were reclining(=were eating)5 with them.

And the Pharisees and their scribes were complaining to his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?”

And having answered, [the] Jesus said (to) them, “The ones being healthy have no need of a physician, but the ones having ill.”

I have not come to call (the) righteous but sinners to repentance.“

And they said (to) him, “The disciples of John fast often and make requests(=offer prayers), and so (do) the (disciples) of the Pharisees, but the ones to you(=your disciples) eat and drink.”

And [the] Jesus said (to) them, “[not, # expecting ‘No’] Are you able to make the sons(=guests) of the bridechamber fast while the bridegroom is with them?”

“and (the) days will come, [and] when the bridegroom might(=will) be taken from them, (and) then they will fast in those days.”

And he was speaking also a parable to them, “[that] No one, having torn a patch from new garment, puts (it) on an old garment. If (he) indeed (does so) [not], he will tear the new, and the patch from the new will not match with the old.”

“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If (he) indeed (does so) [not], the new wine will burst the wineskins, and it will be spilled and the wineskins will be ruined.”

“But the new wine (must be) put into new wineskins.”

“And no one, having drunk old (wine), wants new; for he says, ‘The old is good(=better).”
