1 And having arisen from there, he goes into the regions of Judea and beyond the Jordan. And crowds gathered to him again. And as he was accustomed(# pluperfect), he was teaching them again.
2 And having come, Pharisees were asking him, “[if(# leading a direct speech in NT)] Is it lawful for a man to divorce (his) wife?” testing him.
3 And having answered, he said (to) them, “What did Moses command you?”
4 And they said, “Moses allowed to write a certificate of divorce and divorce.”
5 And [the] Jesus said (to) them, “For hardness of your heart, he wrote you this commandment.”
6 “But from (the) beginning of (the) creation, he made them male and female.”
7 “Because of this, a man will leave his father and mother and [he will] be joined to his woman.”
8 “And the two will be(=become) one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh.”
9 “What therefore [the] God joined together, let no man separate.”
10 And in the house, the disciples were asking him again about this.
11 And he says (to) them, “Whoever [might] divorces his wife and [might] marries another (woman) commits adultery against her.”
12 “And if she, having divorced her husband, [might] marries another (man), she commits adultery.”
13 And they were bring little children to him in order that he might touch them. But the disciples rebuked them.
14 But having seen, [the] Jesus was indignant and said (to) them, “Let the little children come to me. Do not forbid them. For of such is the kingdom of God.”
15 “Truly I say (to) you. Whosoever might(=will) not receive the kingdom of God like a little child, he might(=will) never enter [into] it.”
16 And having taken them in his arms, he was blessing, putting his hands upon them.
17 And his going out(=as he was going out) into(=on) (his) way, one (man), having run and [having] knelt (before) him, was asking him, “Good teacher, what might(=shall) I do that I might(=may) inherit eternal life?”
18 And [the] Jesus said (to) him, “Why do you call me good? No one (is) good except One, (that is,) God.”
19 You have known the (the) commandments: “Do not kill, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.”
20 And he was saying (to) him, “Teacher, all those things have I observed from my youth.”
21 And [the] Jesus, having looked (at) him, loved him and said (to) him, “One (thing) is lacking (to) you. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow me, (having taken up the cross).”
22 But having been gloomy(=having fallen his face) at the word, he went away being sad(=sorrowful), because he was having(=had)1 great possessions.
23 And having looked around, [the] Jesus says (to) his disciples, “How hardly shall the ones having riches enter into the kingdom of God!”
24 And the disciples were being amazed at his words. And [the] Jesus, again having answered, says (to) them, “Children, how hard it is to enter into the kingdom of God!”
25 “It is easier (for) a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”
26 And they were being greatly astonished, saying to themselves, “And who is able to be saved?”
27 Having looked at them, [the] Jesus says, “With men (it is) impossible, but not with God. For all things (are) possible with God.”
28 [The] Peter began to say (to) him, “See, we left all things and have followed you.”
29 [The] Jesus was saying, “Truly I say (to) you, No one who left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for my sake and for the sake of the gospel”
30 “might(=will) not receive a hundredfold now in this time - homes and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions - and in the age to come, eternal life.”
31 “And many (who are) first will be last, and the last first.”
32 And they were in(=on) the road, going up to Jerusalem. And [the] Jesus was going before them, and they were being astonished, and the ones following(=who followed) were being afraid. And having taken again the twelve, he began to tell them the things being going to happen (to) him,
33 “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed (to) the high priests and the scribes. And they will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to the Gentiles.”
34 “And they will mock him, and [will] spit upon him, and [will] scourge him, and [will] kill. And after three days, he will rise.”
35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come to him, saying (to) him, “Teacher, we want that you should do(=you to do) (for) us whatever we [might] ask you.”
36 And he said (to) them, “What do you want that I should do(=me to do) for you?”
37 And they said (to) him, “Grant us that, one at your right and one at (your) left, we might(=may) sit in your glory.”
38 And [the] Jesus said (to) them, “You don’t know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized (with) the baptism that I am baptized (with)?”
39 And they said (to) him, “We are able.” And Jesus said (to) them, “You will drink the cup that I drink, and will be baptized (with) the baptism that I am baptized (with).”
40 “But to sit at my right or at left is not (for) me to grant, but (it is for those) for whom it has been prepared.”
41 And having heard, the ten began to be indignant with James and John.
42 And having called them, [the] Jesus says (to) them, “You know that the ones being regarded (as rulers) to rule over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise(=wield) authority over them.”
43 “But it is not so among you. But whoever [may] wants to become great among you shall(=must) be your servant.”
44 “And whoever [may] wants to be first among you shall(=must) be slave of all.”
45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life (as) a ransom for many.”
46 And they come to Jericho. And his and his disciples’s and a great crowd’s going out(=as he and his disciples and a great crowd were going out)2 from Jericho, Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the roadside.
47 And having heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Son of David, Jesus, have mercy on me.”
48 And many were rebuking him that he should be quiet. But he was crying out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me.”
49 And having stood, [the] Jesus said, “Call him.” And they call the blind man, saying (to) him, “Take heart, get up, he calls you.”
50 And having thrown off his garment, having sprung up, he came to [the] Jesus
51 And having answered him, [the] Jesus said, “What do you want that I should do(=me to do) (for) you?” And the blind man said (to) him, “Rabboni(# emphatic form of Rabbi), that I might receive my sight(=let me see again).”
52 And [the] Jesus said (to) him, “Go, your faith has saved you.” And immediately he received his sight(=regained his sight) and followed him in(=on) the way.
