(=alt.word)  ·  (added word)  ·  [omit]

And early morning’s having come(=when early morning came)1, all the high priests and the elders of the people took counsel against [the] Jesus [so as] to put him to death.

And having bound him, they led (him) away and delivered to Pilate the governor.

Then Judas, having delivered(=who had delivered) him, having seen that he was condemned, having repented, brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the high priests and elders,

saying, “I sinned (by) having delivered innocent blood.” But they said, “What (is that) to us? You shall see (to that)(=That is your responsibility).”

And having thrown the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed. And having gone away, he hanged himself.

But the high priests, having taken the pieces of silver, said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.”

And having taken counsel, they bought from(=with) them the field of the potter for(=as) a burial (place) for the strangers.

Therefore that field has been called (the) Field of Blood to this day.

Then the thing spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying, “And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of the one having been valued(=who was valued), whom they from (the) sons of Israel priced,”

“and they gave them for the field of the potter, as (the) Lord directed me.”

And [the] Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked him, saying, “Are you the king of the Jews?” And [the] Jesus was saying, “(It is as) you say.”

And in(as temporal) the him to be accused(=when he was accused) by the high priests and elders, he answered nothing.

Then [the] Pilate says (to) him, “Do you not hear how many things they testify against you?”

And he did not answer him, not even to one word, so as the governor to wonder(=so that the governor wondered) greatly.

And at (the) feast the governor was accustomed to release to the crowd one prisoner whom they were wanting.

And they were having then a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.

Therefore their having gathered(=when they had gathered)2, [the] Pilate said (to) them, “Whom do you want I might release(=me to release) to you, Barabbas or Jesus (who is) called Christ?”

for he was knowing(# pluperfect as imperfect) that they delivered him because of envy.

And his sitting(=while he was sitting)3 on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “(Let there be) nothing (to) you and to that righteous man(=Have nothing to do with that righteous man), for I have suffered much today by(=in) a dream because of him.”

But the high priests and the elders persuaded the crowds that they should ask [the] Barabbas and should have [the] Jesus put to death.

And the governor, having answered, said to them, which from the two do you want I might release(=me to release) to you? And they said, “[the] Barabbas!”

[The] Pilate says (to) them, “Then what might(=shall) I do Jesus (who is) called Christ?” They all say, “Let (him) be crucified!”

But he was saying, “[For, interrogative] What evil has he done?” But they were shouting all the more, saying, “Let him be crucified!”

And [the] Pilate, having seen that he (could) gain nothing but rather (that) a riot is coming to be, having taken water, washed the(=his) hands in front of the crowd, saying, “I am innocent from the blood of this (man). You shall see (to that)(=That is your responsibility).”

And having answered, all the people said, “His blood (be) on us and on our children.”

Then he released Barabbas to them. But having flogged [the] Jesus, he delivered (him) in order that he might be crucified.

Then the soldiers of the governor, having taken [the] Jesus into the Praetorium, gathered to him all the cohort.

And having stripped him, they put a scarlet cloak (on) him.

And having plaited a crown of thorns, they put (it) on his head, and a reed in his right (hand). And having knelt before him, they mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

And having spat at(=on) him, they took the reed. And they were striking him on at(=on) his head.

And when they mocked him, they stripped him (of) the cloak, and they put his clothes (on) him, and they led him away in order to crucify.

And going out, they found a man (of) Cyrene, Simon by name. And they forced this (man) that he might carry his cross.

And having come to a place called Golgotha, that is called a Place of a Skull.

They gave him to drink wine having been mixed with gall. And having tasted, he would not [to] drink.

And having crucified him, they divided his clothes (by) casting lot(=lots)

And sitting, they were keeping watch him there.

And they placed over his head the charge of(=against) him, having been written, THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Then two robbers are crucified with him, one at(=on) (the) right and one at(=on) (the) left.

And the ones passing by are insulting him, wagging their heads,

and saying, “The one destroying the temple and building (it) in three days, save yourself. If you are (the) Son of [the] God, [and] come down from the cross.”

Likewise also the high priests with the scribes and elders, mocking, were saying,

“He saved others, he is not able to save himself! He is (the) King of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe on(=in) him.”

“He has trusted on(=in) [the] God. Let Him rescue now if He wants him. For he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”

And in the same way also the robbers having been crucified with him was reviling him.

And from (the) sixth hour (there) was darkness over all the land until (the) ninth hour.

And about the ninth hour [the] Jesus cried out (with) a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, Lema Sabachthani?” This is, “My God, My God, Why have you forsaken me?”

And some of the ones standing(# perfect as present) there, having heard, were saying, “[that] This (man) calls Elias.”

And immediately one of them, having run and having taken sponge and having filled of(=with) wine vinegar and having put (it) on a reed, was giving it to him to drink.

But the rest said, “Leave (him alone), Let us see if Elijah comes saving(=to save) him.”

And [the] Jesus, having cried again (with) a loud voice, lets the(=his) spirit go.

And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two from (the) top to (the) bottom. And the earth was shaken, and the rocks were split.

And the tombs were opened and many bodies of the sleeping saints were raised.

And having come out of the tombs, after his rising(=resurrection), they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

And the centurion and the ones with him keeping watch(=who were guarding) [the] Jesus, having seen the earthquake and the things happened, feared greatly, saying, “Surely this was (the) Son of God.”

And there were many women watching from afar, who followed [the] Jesus from [the] Galilee, ministering him.

Among whom was(=were) Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Jebedee.

And evening’s having come(=when evening came)4, (there) came a rich man from Arimathea, Joseph (by) name(# accusative of respect), who himself also became a disciple to(=of) [the] Jesus.

This (man), having come to [the] Pilate, asked the body of Jesus. Then [the] Pilate ordered (it) to be delivered.

And having taken the body, [the] Joseph wrapped it (with) a clean linen cloth.

And he put it in his new tomb, which hewed(=had hewn) in the rock. And having rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, he went away.

And there was Mary Magdalene and the other Mary sitting opposite the grave.

And (on the) next day, that is after the Preparation (Day), the high priests and the Pharisees came together to Pilate.

saying, “Sir, we have remembered that that impostor living yet(while he was yet alive) said, ‘After three days I will rise(# present as future).’”

“Therefore order the grave to be made secure until the third day, lest, having come, his disciples might steal him and might say (to) the people, ‘He has been risen from the dead.’ And the last deception will be worse (than) the first.”

[The] Pilate was saying to them, “You have a guard. Go, make (it) secure as you know (how).”

And they, having gone, made the grave secure having sealed(=by sealing) the stone with the guard.
