At that time [the] Jesus went on the Sabbath[s] through the grainfields. And his disciples were hungry, and began to pluck ears of grain and to eat.
And the Pharisees, having seen, said (to) him, “Behold, your disciples are doing what it is not lawful to do in(=on) (the) Sabbath.”
And he said (to) them, “Have you not read what David did when he was hungry and the ones with him?”
“How he entered into the house of God and ate the breads of the Presence, which it was not lawful for him to eat neither for the ones with him, but only for the priests?”
“Or have you not read in the Law that on the Sabbath[s] the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are guiltless?”
“And I say (to) you that One greater than temple is here.”
“And if you had known what it is(=means), ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless.”
“For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
And having gone from there, he came to their synagogue.
And behold, a man having a withered hand. And they asked him, saying, “[if(# indirect interrogative)] Is it lawful on the Sabbath[s] to heal?,” in order that they might accuse him.
And he said (to) them, “What man will be(=is) there among you, who will have(=has) one sheep, and if this might fallen into a pit on the Sabbath[s], will he not take hold of it and lift it out?”
“How much more different(=valuable) is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath[s].”
Then he says (to) the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and it was restored whole like the other. 14 And having gone out, the Pharisees took a counsel against him how they might destroy him.
And Jesus, having known, withdrew from there. And many followed him. And he healed them all.
And he warned them that they should not make him known,
that it might be fulfilled the thing spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
“Behold, my boy whom I chose, my beloved (with) whom my Soul was well pleased. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim judgment(=justice) to the Gentiles.”
“He will not quarrel nor shout, nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets.”
“He will not break a [having been] bruised reed and he will not quench a smoldering wick, until he might send forth [the] judgment(=justice) to victory.”
“And in his name (the) Gentiles will hope.”
Then a demon-possessed man, blind and dumb, was brought to him. And he healed him, so the dumb to speak and to see(=spoke and saw).
And all the crowds were astonished and said, “Is not this the Son of David?”
And the Pharisees, having heard, said, “This (man) does not cast out the demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of demons.”
And knowing(#pf. with present meaning) their thoughts, he said (to) them, “Every kingdom [having] divided against itself is ruined, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.”
“And if [a] Satan casts out [the] Satan, he was(=is) divided against himself, how then will his kingdom stand?”
“And if I cast out the demons by Beelzebub, By what do your sons cast out? Therefore they will be your judges.”
“And if I cast out the demons by (the) Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.”
“Or how can anyone enter into a strong man’s house and plunder his possessions unless he first might bind the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.”
“The one not being with me is against me, and the one not gathering with me scatters.”
“Therefore I say (to) you, all sin and blasphemy will be forgiven [to] the men, but the blasphemy of the Spirit will not be forgiven.”
“And whoever might speak(=speaks) a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven [to] him, but whoever might speak(=speaks) against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven [to] him, either this age or in the coming (age).”
“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree rotten and its fruit rotten, for the tree is known from the fruit.”
“(You) brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”
“The good man brings forth good things out of the good treasure, and the evil man brings forth evil things out of the evil treasure.”
“And I say (to) you that (for) every careless word that [the] men will speak, they shall give account about it in (the) day of judgment.”
“For from(=by) your words you will be justified, and from(=by) your words you will be condemned.”
Then some of scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”
And he, having answered, said (to) them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.”
“For as Jonah was in the belly of huge fish three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.”
“(The) men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, a greater than Jonah (is) here.”
“(The) Queen of (the) south will be raised in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, a greater than Solomon (is) here.”
“And when the unclean spirit might go out from [the] man, he goes through waterless places, seeking rest and does not find,”
“Then he says, ‘I will return into my house where I came out.’ And having come, he finds (it) being unoccupied and having been swept clean and having been put in order.”
“Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more evil than himself, and having gone in, lives there. And the last (state[s]) of that man becomes worse than the first (state[s]). So shall it also be to this evil generation.”
Yet his speaking(=While he was still speaking)1 to the crowds, behold, his mother and brothers were standing outside, seeking to speak to him.
And someone said (to) him, “Behold, your mother and your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak to you.”
And having answered, he said (to) the one saying to him, “Who is my mother, and who is my brothers?”
And having stretched out his hand on(=toward) his disciples, he said, “Behold, my mother and my brothers.”
“For whoever might do the will of my Father in heavens, he is my brother and sister and mother.”
