See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and (so) we are. Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
Beloved, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been manifested. We know that if(=when) he [might] be manifested, we will be like him, because we will see him as he is.
And everyone having this hope on(=in) Him purifies himself, just as that One is pure.
Everyone doing [the] sin does the lawlessness also, and [the] sin is [the] lawlessness.
And you know that that one(=Christ) was manifested so that he might take away the(=our) sins, and sin is not(=there is no sin) in him.
Whoever abiding in him does not sin. Whoever sinning has neither seen him nor known him.
Children, let no one mislead you. The one doing the righteousness is righteous, just as that One is righteous.
The one doing [the] sin is of the devil, because the devil sins(=has been sinning) from (the) beginning. For this the Son of God was manifested, so that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Whoever having been born of [the] God does not sin, because His seed abides in him. And he is not able to sin, because he has been born of [the] God.
By this the children of God and the children of the devil is(=are) manifest. Whoever not doing righteousness is not of [the] God, and the one not loving his brother (is not of God),
because this is the message which you heard from (the) beginning, that we may love one another.
Not as(=Do not be like) Cain (who) was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And for what(=why) did he murder him? For his works was(=were) evil, but the (works) of his brother (were) righteous.
Do not marvel, brothers, if the world hates you.
We know that we have passed from [the] death to [the] life, because we love the brothers. The one not loving abides in [the] death.
Whoever hating his brother is a murderer. And you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
In(=By) this we have known the love, because that one laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down the(=our) lives for the brothers.
And whoever(=if anyone) [may] has the means of life of the world(=the world’s goods) and [may] sees his brother having need and [might] closes his bowels(=heart) from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
Children, let us not love (in) word or (in) the tongue, but in work(=deed) and (in) truth.
And in(=by) this we will know that we are of the truth, and we will convince(=will reassure) our heart before Him,
for if(=whenever) the(=our) heart [may] condemn us, for [the] God is greater than our heart and knows all things.
Beloved, if the(=our) heart may not(=does not) condemn (us), we have confidence toward [the] God,
and whatever we [may] ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and we do the pleasing things before Him(=what pleases Him).
And this is His commandment, that we should believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and we may(=should) love one another, as He gave commandment to us.
And the one keeping His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And in(=by) this we know that He abides in us, from(=by) the Spirit which He has given us.
