The elder, To beloved Gaius, whom I love in (the) truth.
Beloved, I pray you to do well(=that you may prosper) about(=in) all things and to be in health(=that you may be in good health), just as your soul is well(=propers).
For I rejoiced greatly brothers’ coming and testifying(=when some brothers came and testified)1 (of the) truth of you(=that is in you), just as you walk in (the) truth.
I have no greater joy than these things, that I hear (of) my children walking in truth.
Beloved, you do faith(=faithfully) whatever you [might] work for the brothers, and this(=they) (are) strangers (to you)(=for the strangers)2,
who testified your love before (the) church: whom, having sent worthily of [the] God, you will work well,
because for sake of the name they went out, taking nothing from the Gentiles.
Therefore we ought to welcome such (men), so that we may be fellow workers (for) the truth.
I wrote something (to) the church, but Diotrephes, the one loving to be first (among) them, does not receive us.
Therefore, if I [might] come, I will remember his works which he does, gossiping (about) us (with) evil words. And not being satisfied on(=with) these, he himself does not receive the brothers, and he also stops the ones wishing (to do so) and casts (them) out of the church.
Beloved, do not imitate the evil thing but the good thing. The one doing good is from(=of) [the] God. The one doing evil has not seen [the] God.
It has been testified (for) Demetrius by all and by the truth itself, and we also testifies, and you know that our testimony is true.
I was having(=had) many things to write to you, but I do not wish to write (to) you with ink and pen.
But I am hoping to see you soon, and we will talk mouth to mouth(=face to face).
Peace (to) you. The friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.
