1 Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to every good work,

2 to slander no one, to be not quarrelsome(=peaceable) (and) considerate, showing all gentleness to all men.

3 For we also once were foolish, disobedient, [being] deceived, [being] enslaved (by) various lusts and pleasures, spending time in evil and envy, hateful, hating one another.

4 But when the kindness and love [to men] of God our Savior appeared,

5 not by works in righteousness which we did, but according to His mercy He saved us through (the) washing of rebirth and renewal of (the) Holy Spirit,

6 which he poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

7 so that, being justified (by) that One’s(=His) grace, we might become heirs according to (the) hope of eternal life.

8 Faithful (is) the(=this) word, and I want you to insist on these things, so that the ones having believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things is(=are) good and profitable to men,

9 But go around(=avoid) foolish speculations, [and] genealogies, [and] dissensions, and quarrels (about the) law, for they are unprofitable and futile.

10 Shun heretic man after the first and second admonition,

11 knowing that such a (man) has been perverted and sins, being self-condemned.

12 When I [might] send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.

13 Send Zenas the lawyer and Apollos with haste, that nothing may be lacking to them.

14 And let our (people) also learn to devote themselves to good works, (to provide) for the urgent needs, that they may be not unfruitful.

15 All (who are) with me greet you. Greet the ones loving us in (the) faith. [The] Grace (be) with you all.
