(=alt.word) · (added word) · [omit]
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through (the) will of God, and Timothy the(=our) brother, (To) the church of God being in Corinth, with all the saints being in the whole of Achaia. 2 Grace (to) you and peace from God our Father and (the) Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed (be) the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
who (is) comforting us on(=in) all our affliction, for the to abe able(=so that we are able to) comfort the ones in every affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by [the] God.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound to(=in) us, so through [the] Christ our comfort also abound.
And if we are afflicted, (it is) for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, (it is) for your comfort being effective in endurance of the same sufferings that we also suffer.
And our hope for you (is) firm, knowing that, as you are partakers of the sufferings, so also (you will be partakers) of the comfort.
For we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, of our affliction having been in [the] Asia, that we were according to excess(=exceedingly) burdened beyond strength, so as us to despair(=so that we despaired) even of life,
indeed we ourselves have had the sentence of death in ourselves, so that we may not be having trusted in(=would not rely on) ourselves but on [the] God raising the dead,
who rescued us from so great a death, and will rescue (us); on whom we have hoped(=have set our hope) that He will rescue (us) again.
Your cooperating also for us(=As you also help us)1 by your prayer(# dative of instrument), so that thanks on our behalf might(=may) be given by many persons for the gift (granted) to us through many.
For our boast is this: the testimony of our conscience that we have behaved in the world and even more abundantly to you, in simplicity and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in (the) grace of God.
For we write you no other things than what you read or understand. And I hope that you will understand until (the) end.
As you also understood us from(=in) part, because we are your boast as you also (are) our (boast) in the day of the Lord Jesus.
And (in) this confidence, I was willing(=wanted) to come (to) you first, so that you might have a second grace(=benefit),
and to pass through you to Macedonia, and to come again from Macedonia to you, and to be sent by you to [the] Judea.
Therefore willing(=planing) this, did [not(# expecting the answer ‘No’)] I use(=do) (it) (with) the levity(=lightly)? Or do I will(=plan) what I will(=plan) according (to the) flesh, so that there may(=should) be with me [the] “Yes, Yes” and [the] “No, No”?
And [the] God (is) faithful, that our word (to) you is not “Yes and No.”
For (the) Son of God, Jesus Christ, having been proclaimed among you through us, through me and Silvanus and Timothy, was not “Yes and No,” but in him was “Yes.”
For as many as(=no matter how many) promises of God (are there), (they are) the “Yes” in him. Therefore through him also the “Amen” (is spoken) through us, to the glory of God.
And the One establishing us with you into Christ and having anointed us (is) God,
The One also having sealed us and having given the deposit of the Spirit in our hearts (is God).
And I call [the] God (as) witness on my life, that sparing(=to spare) you I came no more to Corinth.
Not that we lord it over your faith, but we are fellow workers of(=for) your joy; for by faith you stand(# perfect as present).
