1 After these things, having departed from [the] Athens, he came to Corinth.
2 And having found a Jew by name(=named) Aquila, a native of Pontus by race, recently having come from [the] Italy [and] (with) his wife Priscilla, because Claudius [to] have(=had) commended (for) all [the] Jews to depart from [the] Rome, he came to them.
3 And because of to be(=having) the same trade, he was staying with them and working, for they were tent-makers by [the] craft.
4 And he was discussing in the synagogue on every Sabbath, (and) he was persuading(=was trying to persuade) both Jews and Greeks.
5 When both [the] Silas and [the] Timothy came down from [the] Macedonia, [the] Paul was held fast by the word, testifying to the Jews (for) the Christ to be Jesus.
6 And their opposing and blaspheming(=when they were opposing and blaspheming)1, having shaken off the garments, he said (to) them, “Your blood (be) on your head. I (am) clean. From [the] now I will go to the Gentiles.”
7 And having moved from there, he went into (the) house of a certain man, by name(=named) Titus Justus, worshipping [the] God, whose house was next door to the synagogue.
8 And Crispus, the synagogue ruler, believed on the Lord with his all household. And many of the Corinthians, hearing, was believing and being baptized.
9 And the Lord said in (the) night through vision to Paul, “Do not fear, but speak, and do not keep silent.”
10 “For I am with you, [and] no one will attack you to harm you. For a great people is to me in this city.”
11 And he stayed a year and six months, teaching among them the word of God.
12 And Gallio’s being proconsul of Achaia(=when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia)2, the Jews attacked (with) one mind to [the] Paul, and brought him to the court,
13 saying, “[that] Against the law, this one persuades men to worship [the] God.”
14 And Paul’s being about to open the mouth(=when Paul was about to open his mouth)3, [the] Gallio said (to) the Jews, “If indeed it was some crime or evil fraud, O Jews, rightly I should bear with you.”
15 “But if it is questions(=question) about a word and names and law according to you(=your own law), will see(=see)4 (to it) yourselves. I don’t want to be a judge of these things.”
16 And he drove them from the court.
17 But having seized Sosthenes, the synagogue ruler, all were beating (him) in front of the court. And none of these things were of any concern to Gallio.
18 But having yet stayed many days, having left the brothers, Paul was sailing to [the] Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila, having shorn the(=his) head in Cenchrea, because he was having a vow.
19 And they came down to Ephesus, and he left them there. But having entered into the synagogue, he himself discussed with the Jews.
20 And their asking(=when they asked)5 (him) to stay over longer time, he did not consent.
21 But having left and having said, “Again I will return to you, [the] God’s willing(=if God wills)6,” he set sail from [the] Ephesus.
22 And having landed at Caesarea, having gone up and having greeted the church, he went down to Antioch.
23 And having spent some time, he left, passing through the region of Galatia and Phrygia in order, confirming all the disciples.
24 And a certain Jew, Apollos by name(=named Apollos), an Alexandrian by race, an eloquent man, came to Ephesus, being powerful in the Scriptures.
25 This (man) has been instructed (in) the Way of the Lord. And being fervent (in) the spirit, he was speaking and teaching accurately the things about [the] Jesus, knowing only the baptism of John.
26 And this (man) began to speak boldly in the synagogue. And having heard him, Priscilla and Aquila took him and explained more accurately to him the Way of God.
27 And his intending(=when he intended)7 to go through into [the] Achaia, having encouraged, the brothers wrote to the disciples to welcome him, who having arrived(=when he arrived), he helped greatly the ones having believed through [the] grace.
28 For he vigorously was refuting the Jews publicly, proving through the Scriptures (for) Jesus to be the Christ.
