And he came down also to Derbe and to Lystra. And behold, there was a certain disciple, Timothy by name(#accusative of respect), (the) son of a believing Jewish woman and of Greek father,

who was being approved by the brothers in Lystra and Iconium.

Paul wanted for this one to go with him. And having taken (him), he circumcised him on account of the Jews being in those places, because they all knew that his father was a Greek.

And as they were going through the cities, they were delivering to them to keep the dogmas having been decided by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem.

Therefore, the churches were being strengthened in the faith, and were increasing in number daily.

And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit to speak(=from speaking) the word in Aisa.

Having come toward Mysia, they were attempting to go into Bithynia, and the Spirit of Jesus did not allowed them.

Having passed by Mysia, they came down to Troas.

And a vision through(=during) (the) night appeared to Paul. A man of Macedonia was standing and begging him and saying, “Having crossed into Macedonia, help us.”

And when he saw the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to evangelize them.

Having set sail from Troas, we ran a straight course to Samothrace, and on the next day(#dative of time) to Neapolis.

And there to Philippi which is (the) chief city of the part(=district) of Macedonia, a colony. And we were staying in this city (for) some days.

And on the day of the Sabbath, we went outside the gate by river where we were supposing to be a place of prayer. And having sat, we were speaking to women having come together.

And a certain woman worshipping [the] God, Lydia by name, a seller in purple cloth of (the) city of Thyatira, was hearing, whose heart the Lord opened up to pay attention to the things being spoken by Paul.

And when she and her household were baptized, she besought, saying, “If you have considered me to be faithful to the Lord, having come into my house, remain.” And she urged us.

And it happened, our going(=as we were going)1 to the place of prayer, (for) a certain maid having spirit of divination to meet us, who was providing much profit to her masters (by) telling fortunes.

This (maid), following after Paul and us, was crying out, saying, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim (to) you the way of salvation.”

She was doing this over many days. But having been annoyed, and having turned, he said (to) the spirit. “I command you in (the) name of Jesus Christ to come out from her.” And it came out (in) that very hour.

And having seen that the hope of their profit went out, having seized [the] Paul and [the] Silas, her masters dragged to the marketplace before the rulers.

And having brought them to the chief magistrates, they said. “These men, being Jews, are greatly troubling our city.”

“And they declare customs which are not lawful for us, being Romans, to receive or to do.”

And the crowd rose up against them, and the chief magistrates, having torn off their garments, were commanding to beat.

And having laid on them many stripes, they threw (them) into prison, having commanded to the jailer to keep them securely

who, having received such command, threw them into the inner prison, and secured their feet in the fetter.

And about [the] midnight, Paul and Silas, praying, were singing praises to [the] God. And the prisoners were listening to them.

And suddenly there was a great earthquake [so as] for the foundations of the jail to be shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and all the bonds were loosed.

And having become awake(=having awaken), and having seen the prison doors open, having drawn the sword, the jailer was about to kill himself, supposing (for) the prisoners to have escaped.

And Paul shouted with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.”

Having asked lights, he rushed in. And having become(=been) trembling, he fell down before [the] Paul and Silas.

And having brought them outside, he said, “Sirs, what must I do so that I may be saved?”

And they said, “Believe on(=in) the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved, you and your household.”

And they spoke to him the word of the Lord with all the (ones) in his house.

And having taken them at that hour of the night, he washed [from] the stripes(=wounds), and immediately he and all his (family) was baptized.

And having led them up to the house, he set a table before (them). And he rejoiced with all the household, having believed (in) God.

Day’s having come(=when it was day), the chief magistrates sent officers, saying, “Release those men.”

And the jailor reported to [the] Paul these words, “[that] The chief magistrates had sent in order that you may be released. Now therefore having come out, go in peace.”

But Paul said (to) them, “Having beaten publicly us, being Romans men(=citizens) uncondemned, they thew into prison. And now do they drive us out secretly? Certainly not! But having come themselves(=let them come themselves), let them take us out.”

And the officers reported to the chief magistrates these sayings. And they were afraid, having heard that they are(=were) Romans.

And having come, they besought them, and having taken out, they were asking to go away from the city.

And having gone out from the prison, they entered to (the house) of Lydia. And having seen, they exhorted the brothers and went out.
