1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer.”

16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and I appointed you that you may(=should) go and may(=should) bear fruit and that your fruit may(=should) remains; so that whatever you [might] ask the Father in my name, He might(=may) give you.”

17 “I command you these things, that you love one another.” 18 ”If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before (it hated) you.”

19 “If you were of the world, the world would love(# unreal condition) the(=its) own. And because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”

20 “Remember the word which I said (to) you, ‘A slave is not greater (than) his lord.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you. If they kept my word, they will keep yours also.”

21 “But they will do all these things to you because of my name, because they do not know the One having sent me.”

22 “Unless I came and spoke to them, they were not having(=would not have) sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.”

23 “The one hating me hates my Father also.”

24 “If I did not do among them the works which no other one did, they were not having(=would not have) sin, but now they have seen and have hated both me and my Father.”

25 “But that the word might be fulfilled, having been written in their law, ‘[that] They hated me without reason.’”

26 “When the Counselor [might] comes, whom I will send (to) you from the Father, the Spirit of truth which proceeds from the Father, that One will testify about me.”

27 “And you also testify, because you are(=have been) with me from (the) beginning.”
