1 And they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gerasenes(=Gadarenes).
2 And his having come out(=when he came out)1 of the boat, immediately a man with unclean spirit from the tombs met him,
3 who was having the(=his) dwelling in(=among) the tombs. And even (with) a chain, no one was [being] able to bind him no longer(=any more)2,
4 because of the him often to have been bound with fetters and chains(=because he had often been bound with fetters and chains), and the chains to have been burst(=had been burst) by him, and fetters to have been broken(=had been broken). And no one was [being] strong (enough) to subdue him.
5 And through all(=always), night and day, he was in(=among) the tombs and in(=on) the mountains crying out and cutting himself (with) stones.
6 And having seen [the] Jesus from a distance, he ran and knelt(=worshipped) him.
7 And having cried out (with) a loud voice, he says, “What to me and to you(=What have I to do with you), Jesus, Son of the Most High God. I adjure you by God that you might not torment me.”
8 For he was saying (to) him, “Come out of the man, the(=You) unclean spirit!”
9 And he was asking him, “What name (is given) to you?” And he says (to) him, “(The) name ‘Legion’ (is given) to me because we are many.”
10 And he was begging him much that he would not send them out of the country.
11 And there was near the mountain a large herd of pigs feeding.
12 And they begged him, saying, “Send us into the pigs, that we might enter into them.”
13 And he allowed them. And having come out, the unclean spirits entered into the pigs. And the herd, about two thousand (in number), rushed down the cliff(=steep place) into the sea, and they were being drowned in the sea.
14 And the ones feeding them fled and reported in the city and in the villages. And they came to see what it is(=was) the thing having happened.
15 And they come to [the] Jesus, and see the one demon-possessed, sitting, having been clothed and being sane; the one having had the legion. And they were afraid.
16 And the ones having seen (it) described (to) them how it happened to the one demon-possessed, and about the pigs.
17 And they began to beg him to depart from their territory.
18 And his embarking(=when he was getting)3 into the boat, the one having been possessed with demon begged him that he might be with him.
19 And he did not allow him. But he says (to) him, “Go to your house(=home) to your (family). And report (to) them how much the Lord has done (for) you, and (how) he has had mercy upon you.”
20 And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much [the] Jesus did(=had done) (for) him. And all were marvelling.
21 And [the] Jesus’ having crossed over(=when Jesus crossed over)4 again in the boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered to him. And he was by the sea.
22 And one of synagogue rulers, Jairus (by) name, comes. And having seen him, he falls at his feet.
23 And he begs him much, saying, “[that] My little daughter has(=is) at the point of death. [that] Having Come, you might lay the(=your) hands upon her, so that she might be healed and might live.”
24 And he went with him. And a large crowd was following him. And they were pressing on him.
25 And (there was) a woman being in a flow of blood (for) twelve years,
26 and having suffered many things from many doctors, and having spent all things with her, having been helped nothing(=no better), but rather having come to the worse(=grown worse).
27 Having heard about [the] Jesus, having come behind (him) in the crowd, she touched his garment,
28 because she was saying, “If I [might] touch even his garments, I will be healed.”
29 And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she knew(=felt) (in) the(=her) body that she had been healed of the illness.
30 And immediately Jesus, having known in himself the power having gone out from him, having turned around in the crowd, was saying, “Who touched my garments?”
31 And his disciples were saying (to) him, “You see the crowd pressing upon you. And you say, ‘Who touched me?’”
32 And he was looking around to see the one(=woman) having done this.
33 And the woman, having feared and trembling, knowing(# perfect as present) what has happened (to) her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34 And he said (to) her, “Daughter, your faith has saved(=healed) you. Go in peace. And be whole(=be healed) of your illness.”
35 Still his speaking(=While he was speaking)5, they(=some) come from (the house) of the synagogue ruler, saying, “Your daughter is dead. Why do you still trouble the teacher?”
36 But Jesus, having overheard the word being spoken, says (to) the synagogue ruler, “Do not be afraid, only believe.”
37 And he did not allow anyone to follow with him except Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
38 And they come to the house of the synagogue ruler. And he sees a tumult, and the ones weeping and wailing loudly.
39 And having entered, he says (to) them, “Why do you make a tumult and weep? The child is not dead but sleeps.”
40 And they were laughing at him. But having put them all out, he takes the father of the child, the mother, and the ones with him. And he enters where the child was.
41 And having taken hold of the hand of the child(=having taken the child by the hand), he says (to) her, “Talitha Koum.” which is [being] interpreted, “Little girl, I say (to) you, get up!”
42 And immediately the little girl got up and walked. For she was of twelve years(=twelve years old). And they were astonished immediately with a great astonishment.
43 And he ordered them strictly that no one should know this, and he told (them) to be given her to eat(=to give her something to eat).
