Everyone believing that Jesus is the Christ has been begotten(=born) from(=of) [the] God, and everyone loving the One having begotten(=the Father) also loves the one having been begotten(=the Son) from(=of) Him.
In(=By) this we know that we [may] love the children of God, when we [may] love [the] God and [may] do(=obey) His commandments.
For this is the love of [the] God, that we [may] keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome,
because everything(=everyone) having been born from(=of) [the] God overcomes the world; and this is the victory having overcome the world, our faith.
Who is the one overcoming the world but the one believing that Jesus is the Son of God?
This is the one having come through(=by) water and blood, Jesus Christ, not in(=by) [the] water only, but in(=by) [the] water and [in the] blood. And it is the Spirit testifying(=who testifies), because the Spirit is the truth.
For there are three testifying(=who testify) in the heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one1;
the Sprit and the water and the blood, and the three are into the one.
If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of [the] God is greater, because this is the testimony of [the] God that He has testified about His Son.
The one believing in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. The one not believing [the] God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony which [the] God has testified about His Son.
And this is the testimony: that [the] God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
The one having the Son has [the] life. The one not having the Son of God does not have [the] life.
I wrote these things (to) you believing in the name of the Son of [the] God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
And this is the confidence which we have toward Him, that if we [may] ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
And if we know that He hears us, whatever we [may] ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked from(=of) Him.
If anyone [might] sees his brother sinning a sin not (leading) to death, he will ask(=let him ask)2, and He will give life (to) him, (for) the ones sinning(=committing a sin) not (leading) to death. (There) is a sin (leading) to death, I do not say that he should ask about that.
All unrighteousness(=wrongdoing) is sin, and there is a sin not (leading) to death.
We know that whoever having had been born(=being born)3 from(=of) [the] God does not sin, but the One having been born from(=of) God keeps himself(=him), and the evil one does not touch him.
We know that we are from(=of) [the] God, and the whole world lies in(=in the power of) the evil one.
We know that the Son of [the] God has come, and has given us an understanding so that we may know the true One, and we are in the true One, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
Children, keep yourselves from [the] idols.
