Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy the(=our) brother, To Philemon our beloved one and fellow worker,
to Apphia the(=our) sister, [and] to Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in your house.
Grace (to) you and peace from God our Father and (the) Lord Jesus Christ.
I always give thanks to my God, making remembrance of you(=as I remember you) in my prayers,
hearing of your love and faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and to all the saints,
in order that the fellowship(=sharing) of your faith might be effective in(=by) (the) knowledge of every good thing (which is) in us for Christ.
For I had great joy and consolation from your love, because the bowels(=hearts) of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.
Therefore, having much boldness in Christ to command you the thing being right(=to do what you ought to do),
but for love’s sake I rather appeal (to you), being such a one as Paul, (the) aged, and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus,
I appeal (to) you for my child Onesimus, whom I have begotten in the(=my) chains(=imprisonment),
formerly the one (was) useless to you, but now he is useful both (to) you and to me,
whom I have sent back to you, him, this is my bowels(=hearts),
whom I was desiring(=would have liked) to keep with myself(=me), so that on your behalf he may minister to me in(=during) the chains(=my imprisonment) of(=for) the gospel,
but without your consent I wanted to do nothing, so that your good (deed) may not be as by compulsion but by voluntary.
For perhaps he was separated (from you) for a time for this (reason), that you may have him back forever,
no longer as a slave but beyond(=more than) a slave, a beloved brother, especially to me, but how much more to you, both in (the) flesh and in (the) Lord.
Therefore if you have(=consider) me as a partner, welcome him as (you would welcome) me.
And if he wronged you or owes (you) anything, charge that to me.
I, Paul, wrote(=am writing) (with) my hand, I will repay (it), that I say not(=nothing) (to) you that you owe me your own self besides.
Yes, brother, (I wish that) I may have joy(# aorist optative middle) of you in (the) Lord. Refresh my bowels(=hearts) in Christ.
Having confidence (in) your obedience, I wrote you, knowing that you will do even more than what I say.
And at the same time, prepare a guest room (for) me, for I hope that through your prayers I shall be granted(=restored) (to) you.
Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, greets you,
(and so do) Mark, Aristarchus, Demas (and) Luke, the(=my) fellow workers.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ (be) with your spirit.
