But I say that as long as the heir is a child, he does not differ from a slave, being(=although he is) master of all.

But he is under guardians and stewards until the time set of(=by) the father.

So also, when we were being(=were) children, we were [having been] enslaved under(=to) the elements of the world.

And when the fullness of the time had come, [the] God sent His Son, [having been] born of a woman, [having been] born under (the) law,

in order that he might redeem the ones under (the) law, in order that we might receive adoption as sons.

And because you are sons, [the] God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying(=which calls out), “Abba! Father!”

So you are no longer a slave but a son. And if a son, also an heir through God

But then, indeed, not knowing(# perfect participle as present) God, you were enslaved to the ones not being gods (by) nature.

And now having known God, but rather having been known by God, how (can) you turn again to the weak and beggarly(=miserable) elements, to which you want to serve all over again?

You observe days and months and seasons and years.

I fear (for) you, lest I have labored for you in vain.

Brother, I beg you, become as I am, for I also (have become) as you (are). You have done me no wrong.

And you know that because of weakness of the flesh I preached the gospel (to) you at first.

And you did not despise or scorn your trial(=a trial to you) in my flesh, but you received me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus.

Where then (was) your blessing? For I testify [to you] that, if possible, having torn out(=you would have torn out) your eyes, (and) you gave(=would have given) (them) to me.

So have I therefore become your enemy (by) telling you the truth?

They are zealous (to win) you, but for no good. They want to exclude you, that you may be zealous (for) them.

But (it is) good to be zealous in a good thing always, and not only in the me to present(=when I am present) with you.

My children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ [might] be formed in you,

And I was wishing(=wished) to be present with you now and to change my voice(=tone), for I am perplexed in(=about) you.

Tell me, the ones wishing(=you who want) to be under (the) law, do you not hear the law?

For it has been written that Abraham had two sons, one by the handmaid(=slave woman) and one by the free woman.

But the one by the handmaid(=slave woman) has been born according to flesh, and the one by the free woman through the promise,

which things is(=are) things being allegorized. For these is(=are) two covenants. One indeed (is) from Mount Sinai, giving birth to slavery(=bearing children for slavery), which is Hagar.

Now the Hagar is Mount Sinai in [the] Arabia, and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.

But the Jerusalem above is free, which is our mother.

For it has been written, “Rejoice, you barren woman, the one not bearing(=you who bear no children); break forth and shout, the one not laboring in birth(=you who are never in labor); because the children of the desolate (woman are) many more than (the children) of the one having the husband.

But you, brothers, are children of promise, like Isaac.

But, as then the one having been born according to (the) flesh was persecuting(=persecuted) the one (born) according to (the) Spirit, even so (it is) now.

But what does the Scripture say? Cast out the handmaid(=slave woman) and her son, for the son of the handmaid(=slave woman) will not inherit with the son of the free woman.

Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the handmaid(=slave woman), but of the free woman.
